no, a product of capitalism is the fullfilment of the materialism of the masses. You don't see materialism in non-capitalist countries cause they are poor and ain't got shit to be materialistic with! Doesn't mean the citizens don't want it. Look at the pictures in the newspapers from the last few days - Afghanistanian men literally climbing over each other to get into a recently re-opened movie theatre. Propoganda? In a way, yes, but people aren't rowing to Florida from Cuba on driftwood or hiding themselves in fake chairseats in Tijuana to get to America for a vacation... They want at least a SOMEWHAT fair chance.
