ANOTHER WARNING: I don't care. ___________ It's been on my mind ever since I heard about it on the Tom Joyner Morning Show...monday I think. Of course, Jordan in and of himself doesn't bother me, however, the particulars of this issue do, in accordance to the civil court system as well as punishing success.
All rhetoric and ideology aside, let's be realistic about this.
Juanita Jordan:
1. Never hit a jumpshot in the NBA. 2. Never made a fadeaway jumper in the NBA. 3. Never slammed over anyone in the NBA. 4. Never won the NBA MVP award. 5. Never played an NBA game before in her life.
If it's true that, at least according to Forbes, Jordan has amassed an estimated $400 million estate, exactly why should she be worth half? SHE HASN'T DONE SHIT!
It would be different if they had attained a fortune side by side with her right in the thick of things, i.e. Linda McMahon were to divorce Vince McMahon, or something to that extent. But there is no kind of spin you can put on this issue: Juanita Jordan does not deserve half of Mike's hard-earned fortune for anything short of Mike drowning his kids in a bathtub. Period.
This issue will definitely expose one thing: the civil court system is blatantly sexist. It's no wonder people are staying single in higher proportions than before: If I work my ass off, the only one supporting the family and bringing fame and prestige with it, then I'll be DAMNED if I'm going to let some woman take half because she feels we have "irreconcilable differences". That's bullshit.
I don't care if I only have a tin cup full of water, dammit, you ain't taking half that water.
