insinuating that one can pretend things never happened. "Look, I forgot already... heh, heh, heh, heehhhhh......"

That's shit.

Reparations are a solid start. It's admitting what has been avoided for centuries. It's saying "no, we will not 'just move on'" we want to make up for this raw deal.

I don't know if it's enough, but gestures are important. As soon as we reparate the indigenous americans for theft of land, genocide, and destruction of civilization, kidnapping of children, brainwashing, etc. AND honor our treaties, the better.

And the sooner we represent with the modern-day equivalent of 40 acres and a mule, and make other symbolic reparations for the theft of our history, the theft of our family, the theft of our status as human beings, THE BETTER
