I don't know much about Johannesburg, but what I've seen of it on TV was this: Millions of the original South Africans living in old barracks made of "tin roof" (if you know what i mean) that travel to the city by train to go to school and work. But coming from USA with some capital behind you, I doubt that's what you'll get. But that's one side of the story anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong thou, Norwegian media isn't experienced at telling the truth.
