* my man Lenn Sakata of the Baltimore Orioles. First pro Asian athlete I'd ever seen. Too bad he sucked, but he looked so funny with his long-ass hair and TV set glasses.
* not that obscure, but Gary Clark of the Redskins was my favorite football player for as long as he was in the league.
* Exree Hipp of Maryland Terrapins, before his last year of course when he got slow and stopped slashing.
* back when I collected baseball cards, one of my faves was Andres Galarraga, and this is way back in the day when he was on Montreal. Used to check up on his stats and everything. Prolly cause I dug the name.
* and I have to say two of my favorite current ballers are Jerome Williams and Ben Wallace.
