Ali was intelligent and he could strategize better than most. He was resilient, he had stamina and presence and he connected with people on a world wide scale.
Tyson was a brute in his prime (he got crazy later) and he was exploited as a brute. Instead of honing Tyson's obvious boxing skills, trainers chose to condition an animal.
Foreman was a brute with less bite than Tyson but place Tyson in the ring with Ali in Zaire and it would be a shorter fight because Tyson lacked stamina. Ali would have pissed him off before the 3rd round and Tyson would have tired out.
Ali is truly one of the greatest! Of course, I am from Louisville and grew up with some of the Clays but that's besides the point
