Ode to 3rd i

All wonders ceased today.
All works man knew
won't dare amaze
this humble creature
again.
I fear
I failed
to mark the time
for it passed so quickly
but I pray history
forgives me.
I am but
human.

Indeed
what good is a watch
when time itself
came quickly still
standing
by my side
likewise
holding breath.

For my fellow
blessed prisoner....
she is moving on
finally released
from our cell of pain
and I
stand numb in shock
happy & saddened...
as the light
cascaded
through electrodes
dancing
like infant laughter does
around the ear
gently tracing
those silky lines
across the screen
through my retina
and into my mind.....
informing me of her farewell....
Ah, I sat
transfixed, wondering
if only I had power
to beg
instant transformation
and to join
that blissful
spectrum....

no
merciless Venus herself
could not sculpt
such a miracle
for me...
for I'm no more special
than any one else

and so
for want
of even
echo's curse
to mimic
those sweet musings of yours
I will sit
and watch you pass
as time
pardons even his-self
for the digression
made good with a
patronizing
pat on the shoulder
and dances
continuing off
with you into
oblivion.
the place that only
with a 3rd i can be see
the place that many of us
can only dream.........
