Erykah's project was JUST released 11 days ago so we are working with the label in efforts to make sure EVERYONE who comes to the site is made aware. We thank you for your frequent support by visiting the site often, but not even 1/3 of our users hit up the site more than once during a one week period. For instance, last week we enjoyed over XXX,XXX unique users but only XX,XXX came more than once. Therefore, we try and walk the line between appealing to our core fan base with different doses of news mixed with creative writing AND the visitor who are only reading the home page once during a week's time.

We hadn't plugged Erykah's album release (which I again remind you is only 11 days old) since Monday's update. Monday's update is now in the archives since the home page only houses 3 entries at a time. If you would have actually looked, you would have noticed that there is NO mention of Erykah's album release in any of the updates currently on the home page beside today's. Knowing that, please refer to the percentage of users Okayplayer receives that visit the site more than once in a given week's time.

As far as the updates being funny, we think they are enjoyable to read and a good mix of humor and news. In today's opening paragraph about the photo, she said "Harried-looking wife posted up in the corner. Everybody's got on workboots, including the baby" ... we here think that's pretty funny and clever writing.

B's updates, every Tuesday and Friday, we think these are great. B is a very talented writer with two published books under his belt.

Lastly, how insulting are these remarks, this is not constructive as you say:

ya know? We're working hard in here, this shit ain't easy. We don't charge y'all to use this site (yet.) We don't put up crappy and intrusive banners, pop ups, pop unders, towers, or floaters on our site because we try and keep this place TRUE and for the heads. On top of that, we are getting nearly XXX,XXX unique users a week, receiving over XX.5 MILLION hits A WEEK, serving nearly 500 GIGABYTES a month. Do you realize how much that ALONE costs us?@!#$! No, you don't. That's just a fraction of our over-head. We do charge the labels when we enter into agreement to promote the artists WE CHOOSE to promote. With that comes an obligation for us to create awareness about that artist/project in any way we can. That's one of the methods we use to create funds for us to keep the lights on around here. Now I've been nice in my response and frankly this post really pissed me off so imma leave you with this ...
