In the Source mag Thought said that Jay-Z is mainstream. I agree to some extent but Jay also has a message in some of his songs, peep vol. one or the current "Anything". I believe he has taken the route Lauryn Hill took "n even after all my logic n theory I add a mother****** so u ignt niggas hear me" not many heads want or are ready for music that makes em think just look how they abuse ganja. He also said once u go mainstream u fall off does he think Badu, Hill, Monche n Mos fell off?, if anything I think they have helped people discover their "Roots" thats always been there.
One
Mahagany
