With respect to subject matter, I based my poem "Sunhine" written in 1997 on this song largely because the song provided an impetus for pushing past my own issues with my parents. I too was a military brat living in Germany in the late 1970s and bore witness to the same things Me'Shell expresses in this song. It's funny that she is a featured artist on a site funded by the creater of "One Shine" as well--another of several songs that inspired the same poem.
As soon as I find my poem on one of my disks, I'll post it tomorrow morning.
