"Back in '95, my sophmore year at Rutgers, this sister asked me to sing in her organization's talent show. Thought was the special guest judge. I was the opening act(don't know why to this day), and I sang "One and a Million You" by Larry Graham, that is after I suffered through a five minute bout of stage fright and couldn't remember the words to the damn song. Amidst the boos and siren-like, Apollo-esque screams, I saw the flyest sista on casmpus cheering me on, and the words came to me like tears when I hear Kindred singing. When recapping the acts, Thought said: "That first Brutha, we all know what happened to him," and the audience fell out of their seats. If I had a Size D battery at the time... but I ain't mad anymore.
...But don't let rac-is-m rule your prism, Some bruthas in prison are rough livin' and still givin their all to make sure no other bruthas fall a victim, the wall was empty, but this was in me to give to you, a wall to look up to, so I'm... "Taggin' It Up" - YZ
