people nowadays are calling everything with any association to race a hate crime or hate speech
public enemy had problack material but was never labeled with hate speech. neither was tupac (was he? there was always a buzz about the violence in his lyrics, but i can't seem to recall it ever being called hate speech.. either way, certainly not anymore)
also, the article was very one sided and only concentrated on the point of views of a few individuals
