It's called a contract.
Marriage: a legally binding agreement, entered into by an man and woman, to live together as husband and wife.
Contract: a legally binding agreement, between 2 parties, to provide goods and services
Notice the similarities in the definitions

Maybe, but what if the label doesn't drop you. What if they keep you under contract but never allow you to record. Or what if they keep postponing your release date. You very nieve if you don't think the labels have that type of power.
