i get what you are saying. the police have a love hate relationship with people. in certain situations, like when u are doing something bad and not tying to get caught; or when u got pulled over and you know it is because it is the end of the month and they are trying to make their quota then hell yeah f*ck the police. but when they are trying to catch murderers then of course i have mad respect.
in the context of the song you was singing and explaining at the concert it did make sense.
