27. "shit....its hell enough dealing with riq living in LA" In response to In response to 9 Sat Mar-05-05 09:43 AM
let alone com.
damn maybbe im missing something with mofos moving out to where there is sun and fun.
im just a believer in a rhythm (think of LL talking about going to his grandma's basement to write his songs to get in the zone)----so i gots to be in a place that is uncomfortable and cold and will give me no other option but to work...
and not saying that riq, dilla, and com aren't about working---the exact opposite: riq aint write this many rhymes since DYWM (we up to an unheard of 24 complete demos), well.....we all know dilla's situation and most of that is due to the fact that he may get some fresh air after his 12th beat in done in a 48 hour period.
for me personally, i dont wanna be distracted with the "siren"esque atmosphere of LA. you know me....i'd be at prince's house everynight stealing those damn peanut butter cookies, making threats to the ordertaker at roscoe's for not letting me call in my order after 11 on a saturday, i'd get mad tickets, i'd wake up late, i'd be at the scrip club, we'd never reherse and my girl would leave me.
so---philly is where i do my dirt (or new york, but the lady aint the same under new management)
plus....the direction of this album is closer to kanye's flavor and com just needed a fresh change from the events that were a part of his life since december of 2003.--
so that said i believe that kayne has manned the boards for 60% and dilla the 40% and i am truly not mad at all.
and the courtroom song!?!?!?
DAMNYUUUUUUM!!!!
