>I beg to differ. I think that if he weren't in The Roots, he >would be up there in the same boat as Ghost, Jada. The >"organic" vibe of the Roots has turned alot of people away >from Riq. He rhymes about hoes, guns, urban life, an weed >just like everyone else. He's not soft by any means, just >intelligent. If he had beats from more mainstream producers, >he could easily manipualte the airwaves, and maybe he >chooses not to, cause he doesn't want to leave his Roots >homies behind???
this is faulty logic.
1. check how infinitesmal the buzz was for Masterpiece Theatre.
2. my argument about his lack of charisma (or reluctance to show it off). you need that to blow up.
3. Ghost sold 75,000 albums of Pretty Toney...i don't consider that being in the same boat as Jada. the Roots sold like 3 or 4 times what Ghost did in their first week.
