Knowing that the song is for his son...I believe the bells or chiming sound that flows in the chorus is representing one of those small bedside music boxes that plays when you open it. I listen to this song and imagine d'angelo singing this song softly to himself as he peeps in on his son sleeping...the ending of the song is like the a fade into the mind of his son as the melody continues to soothe him long after father has left the room.....just a thought.CED
