San Francisco (Reuters) - After an exhaustive search, hip-hop journalist Cheo Coker has finally located the gay rapper: Nasir "Nas" Jones, known better to Internet newsgroup posters as BootenLeeFonsworth.
"I was shocked when I discovered Nas was posting on our boards," noted an exasperated Hub, of hip-hop band The Roots, between chew sticks. "I was even more shocked when one of our Web masters traced his IP address to a computer located in a gay porn post production facility."
Hub was not the only hip-hop figure to be shocked that Booten was the first rapper outted online. Superstar rapper Jay-Z also registered some surprise. "Well, when he talked about me having 'd--k sucking lips', I was questioning his sexuality, but once I found out he was posting on the Internet under an assumed name about me, I was pretty much convinced. The baggy pink suit was a tip-off, too." When asked whether he thought Nas could win a battle with Black Thought, the charismatic rapper replied with a smirk, "I don't believe him, he needs more people."
"Tracking Nas -- excuse me, Booten -- through the information superhighway was quite a task, but I was able to do it with the help of the staff at my site," noted Brian Kyle, a prominent figure at one hip-hop web site.
Nas, spotted limping away from Columbia label offices with an empty jar of Vaseline, could not be reached for comment.
