In at last TWO interviews I read Jag basiaclly said that people liek Fiath Evans adn she named Faith evans in particular as not singing soul music. She said that they are just pop artists, etc. etc.
Now is Faith losing sleep over this as she counts her loot in her big ATL crib probably not. Probably not. We all know how fruitless it is to try and categorize black music these days anyway. Mostly bad music and a little bit of good music is my take on it.
I like Jag's bluntness but in some fashion she needs to check herself cause she only sounds like a hater even though I dont think she meansd that way. But if someone sees u havent even moved 100K copies but you are calling out tons of gold, plat artists it looks like hating. it especially looks and smells like hating when most folks dont even knwos what or who you are.
And c'mon folks MCA aint the freakin devil they cant be the blame for everything that goes wrong. damn!

Greed, stupidity and ignorance on the part of the policy wonks and further alienating the listener is the real threat to the business, and ultimately the artist's ability to be heard." - Ken Waagner, a digital-media consultant in Chicago who was part of the recording academy's board of governors for four years
