I guess you must be at the "Conservtive School of Radio Journalism" duck the issues and say something nonsensical.
#1. A draft would cause a HUGE clamor amongst the upper-classes as their kids (primarily) aren't in the military. If you join the military and from the middle class, people look at you funny - that's a fact.
#2. To say that people join the military because they want to make it their life, is ignorant at best and disengenous at worse. A lot of people join for college money, due to lack of options, to escape their current lives, etc - moreso than those that join because they have a legitamate desire to become military men.
But of course, I'm talking to the guy who likes to talk without facts and who (especially in this case) knows next to nothing about being in the military.
