90. "my oldest (little brother) was so easy to train" In response to In response to 0 Thu Jan-01-09 04:49 PM by mindful
he basically modeled what my father did and when my father wasn't around and he needed a little coaxing to make it to the potty, i ran with him (his hand in mine) all the way while saying, "let's go potty. let's go potty. we're almost there." we also copped some themed underwear for little man and put the plastic undies over them as well. he felt like a "big boy" because he just knew he had on "big boys' underwear." so, i think that had a lot to do with him wanting to go potty.
but that baby boy? I've prayed that I never have a son who was as bad to potty train as he was. I had to basically make him sit on the potty until he did something. I mean, like right in front of the tv and etc. he was stubborn about it. He would sit on the potty for about 30 minutes or so, then get up (the days I was frustrated with him, I'd make him get up) and that little son of a gun would go right there in front of the potty on the floor. *slaps forehead* I still think he did it out of spite.
I've always *heard* that girls were easier. My mom made it sound like I was the easiest when it came to potty training. She always says, "it's like you just knew. I hardly did any work when it came to potty training you."
