my son is almost 3 1/2 and we're still working on him. We started trying to potty train him last spring by taking him out of diapers and putting him in Pull-ups, but that didn't work at first. He'd just use the Pull-up like a diaper. Then one day a few days after his 3rd birthday, he just went to his potty one day and peed on his own. We got him a potty that came with congratulations stickers so every time he used it he got a sticker to put on the lid.
He's trained now for the most part, but if he's playing or something, he won't stop to go pee. However, he ALWAYS does #2 in the potty or toilet even if we're out in public, which is great for us cause that means no more stinky changes. I've learned in these months that potty training takes a great deal of patience and that they will learn at their own pace. We just gotta encourage them and not punish them too harshly when they don't quite get it or when they have accidents.....
