but yuo are still off base completely.

>first off you think hiphop is shitty so... i take issue with
>that

you take issue with someone who isnt content with the current state of affairs? then.. take issue with a hell of a lot more people then me. cause for real... thats a common gripe. oh i know, i wasnt all specific, so that leaves room for free interpretation i guess.

>>mo fos BRAG abuot making shit in 15 minutes
>>to my knowledge, swizz popularized that one
>>guess what? IT FUCKING SOUNDS like it was made in 15
>minutes

>i dont believe this at all. i believe some beats i love were
>made quickly and some i hate took years. and im sure there is
>stuff that fits in everywhere in between. but your assumption
>that every beat that came together quickly is shit... i can
>not buy

most of swizz joints are horrible, the latest being perhaps his worst offender. heatmakerz are nowhere near as bad, and they have me at 50-50... but truthfully, hen i hear folks brag outrightabuot maiking beats in 15 minutes, the product generally sounds that way.

>>nah, i havent "made it"
>>yeah, im still developing my own sound
>>no, i dont have the right to tell anyne else how to get don

>exactly my point

where did i tell anyone how they SHOULD be making music?
and.. are you implying that people who havent "made it" shuoldnt have opinions on the matter?

>>but realistically... i dont give a fuck WHO you are
>>if you consider 3 hours to create something dope to be too
>>long
>>i dont know what to say, really, except that you shouldnt be
>>making music
>
>thanks for ignoring OUR point made directly above

thanks for ignoring this point for the millionth time. so.. three hours is too long to make music? thats waaaay too much time to invest... right? the entire point simply this: if it means getting the end product sounding better, then whats an extra 2 hours, 45 minutes? spending the time to get shit proper is for suckers i suppose. cats are appalled ath tanyone would spend some actual time on their craft.

>>sampling, keyboards, whatever... i dont care how you get
>down
>>but there was a time when folks LEARNED how to PLAY an
>>instrument
>
>irrelevant unless you are suggesting that sampling is beneath
>learning to play an instrument in which case... i MAY agree
>with you. in SOME cases anyway.

no, not irrelevant at all. the next statement i made is precisely why.

>>now that e have teh technology to jack their hard work and
>do
>>something creative with it, we've gotten lazy even with that
>
>again this is one of my largest problems with your post. the
>implication is that great beats require a great deal of time
>and everything made quickly is garbage. its biased and
>arrogant and FULL of assumptions. it also takes another jab at
>sampling.

arrogant? biased? full of assumptions? jab at sampling? no, no, no, and no.

*sigh*

lets spell this out. people used t practice their instruments for hours, even days on end. actually, believe it or not-and i know this bothers a lot of you, and i'm sorry-people actually do this still! people actually practice their instruments, they actually take the time to learn how to play a piece of music. cats who have samplers, we can take allllll of that work they did, and take a great piece of music, and make something new from it. let me be as specific as i can, since you like to inffer a lot of false shit to my statements... but i like this idea. sampling=good thing! i like sampling. i enjoy sampled beats. and i think the technology to do it makes for some amazing possibilities. that being said, a sampler is an instrument in its own right. no that that is as clear as i can possibly make it, i'll proceed.

do great beats require a great deal of time? NO. des every beat have to be painstakingly constructed secnd by second? no. not at all. that is NOT what i am saying. NOW, when someone says, "it takes too long, 3 hours almost, trying t get teh bass in tune and all that..."
yeah, thats lazy. how do you complain that 3 hours is too long? three huors really aint shit, and thats a sign of lazyness to me.THAT DOES NOT MEAN that i think great beats can not be done in a short amount of time.

to me and plenty of others, the current state of hip hop is musically bland. i am by FAR not the only one who thinks this. i think a big part of that equation is this attitude. NO I AM NOT SAYING THAT ALL BEATS MADE THIS WAY ARE BAD. i have to keep up the disclaimers with you, seeing as how you nitpick what ISNT said like a police interrogator, or worse, an insecure girlfriend.

>>THIS is EXACTLY why hip hop gtes shit on and not regarded by
>>so many as a legit musical form
>
>no it isnt. there are THOUSANDS of other reasons for that.
>'ive got king kong in my trunk' might be one of them. MIGHT
>be. ill admit that to SOME people, the speed and ease in which
>many hiphop beats are created may contribute to some of the
>feelings you are referring to but... just some.

seems like vast majority to me. a lot of complaints i hear, shit that ive read, the ease of sampling is the core reason. the phrase "this is just an old song they stole, they didnt actually create this...." is one of the most common complaints i hear. i would say "some" is a gross understatement. i'm sure you want sources, phone numbers, names, articles, website links and shit, cold hard stats to prove this as 100 percent fact and back up my claim, but sorry... im not THAT invested in this rant. maybe next time.

>>why bother? why not just jack dope beats from other people
>and
>>market them as yours? if anything over 20 minutes is too
>much
>>time, you really shouldnt make music.
>
>again telling ppl how to do things and looking down upon them
>if they do things that dont fit into your mold. and thats
>without even hearing the result! i again find this ridiculous.

actually, i stand by this statement. call it arrogant or whatever... but arent yu looking down on me, for having that opinion? all at the same time? funny shit.
if you think 20 minutes is too long, if that is just too much time to invest in your craft, then YEAH, you should really find something else to do.

>we can just disagree cuz im sure you gonna come in here angry
>and tell me how im making asumptions and blah blah blah blah
>but...

yeah, im crazy heated right now, my face is red, veins popping out an shit.. i need some downers pronto. i just want to punch babies, i'm so angry.

>youre missing the point

what is your point, other then you like to fill in the blanks for other people? cause thats really all you have done throughout this thread. you took shit that you falsey percieved and ran with it, and tahts about it.
