whassup all,
i've been checking okayplayer boards now n then and it's dope to see people checking for fresh and progresive music. the counter culture is alive :) hope some of you have had the chance to check my album tide's arising - plenty of flavors and jams within, especially now we're in the summer sun.
i've got a couple of stateside trips coming up - live shows at san jose jazz festival 8/13 and montreux jazz festival atlanta 9/2-4 <-- freesoul sessions in residence every night of the fest. the live shows are pretty crazy - all about the live remix. any time and every time :) DJ dates tbc soon around those dates - west coast mid august and the south east and east coast in sept. more word on all that soon.
new releases dropping soon...
Tide's Arising remixes 12" on ABB soul with reworks by Domu, Phuturistix and Maddslinky... mid august
a new MdCL feat lady alma 12" on funk of fury with a mix from recloose... september
fresh out of the studio MdCL remixes for jaguar wright, lekkan babalola, domu, phuturistix and a few more in the pipeline...
legends of the underground soundtrack drops 9/14 on kindred spirits. that ish is some other craziness - soundtrack to an epic sci-fi trilogy performed by 30 dancers - classical, poppers, breakers, jazz dancers, all dancing inside a 3D CGI animation (put them glasses on!) and printed with the soundtrack by me, bembe segue, domu and seiji. 2005's answer to 70s fusion. and then some ;) ...
and debut 12" from the politik - MdCL and bembe segue official collabo project... soon come soon come.
there'll be new soundbites on the website soon, and soon as i get a handful of spare minutes, there'll be a fresh mixtape to share online. a number of other collabs in the pipeline, always new music to be made.
peace, mark
