Im just starting to save up for one, so it'll be a while until i can afford one but I wanted to get some tips so i can do my research and get the best one possible, i just need help finding where to start....

what kind of things should i look for in them, like is lcd or plasma screens better?

are any brands superior to the others?

any other tips anyone has about them would be helpful too.
