You're right. 5K for the 'entry' level iMac is a lot of coin.

I couldn't see hard core gamers spending 5K, at the least, for this device.

The only market I could see for this is IT professionals who need high powered workstations for data-intensive processing or develop cutting-edge software. I could see video editors or CG designers getting a lot out of the hardware as well.

It was crazy tho to see the crowd get hyped for the iMac and then let out some polite applause at the price.
