TL;DR - This Intel chip beats the performance of any Core i7 ever released, not surprisingly.

It's pricey though at over $1,700 tho and probably would be best served for video editors and developers who use their machines for high-end projects.

Also, the lower level i7's, even the 4-core version matched up pretty well, so if you have an older model, you're machine still ought to be fast enough.
