It's go time.

We have a weird Wednesday start this season, with my Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks running it back against the Cheatin'-Mike-Vrabel-led Patriots.

Then we get Rams/Niners tomorrow from Crocodile Hunter Land (RIP). Go Niners (can't believe I have to say that but it helps us).

After that it's a full slate of Sunday games, and MNF of course, and we're back in the thick of it.

How y'all feeling about your team?

Wanna make any bold predictions?

Preseason picks for awards/stat leaders?

Let's get it started.
2819174, The Seahawks defense did what the Seahawks defense does.
Posted by PROMO, Thu Sep-10-26 08:56 AM
Probably woulda been an easy dub if not for Darnold going down on the 5th snap of the season.

Hawks looked dead in the water on offense after that until Drew Lock got comfortable, then the offense started looking solid.

Is Drake Maye okay? He looked like he had a dead arm.

Weird game, but fun for me minus Darnold.
2819178, i was sure that was a 12+ week injury
Posted by cgonz00cc, Thu Sep-10-26 07:13 PM
articular cartilage shredded to shit

but apparently its not a long term thing, which seems very fortunate
2819181, yeah, sounding like he'll be back by Game 5 at worst.
Posted by PROMO, Fri Sep-11-26 09:54 AM
all winnable games for us even with Lock if he's getting starter reps in practice.
2819179, gonna be so frustrating watching Mike Evans thrive with niners
Posted by dillinjah, Fri Sep-11-26 07:49 AM
2819180, man, Niners dog walked the Rams. didn't have that on my radar.
Posted by PROMO, Fri Sep-11-26 09:53 AM
my early overreaction is the Niners are now the team to beat in the league.

i mean, they DID win 12 games last year w/out Fred Warner, Dre Greenlaw and racist ass Bosa. they got all them back, plus added Mike Evans who looked like Mike Evans, and Deebo, who never shoulda left.

they are loaded.

Rams looked BAD, and I truly don't believe it was JUST their travel itinerary. Father time looked like he grabbed Stafford by the collar, and they had nothing on defense.

obviously it's EARLY, duh, but man...i dunno.

all that said, if the Seahawks are healthy, Mike Macdonald will scheme down any opponent and i back my squad.

gonna be a fun season in the NFC West, as usual.

And don't look now but what if the Cards are even mildly coherent on defense with so many solid players on offense that they can at least score in the first half of games? Yeah, the West might be on!

Its always interesting to see how things actually change around the league from year to year. Well, the Browns are still themselves. But besides that! Hehe
2819198, Under Siri, the Eagles go in Beast mode every other season…
Posted by Mignight Maruder, Sun Sep-13-26 07:49 AM
We’ll see what this year has in store. They have one of the deepest rosters in the NFL, but questions linger;
- who will fill the void of AJ Brown (despite his subpar season last year, he was still Hurts’s safety valve for so many years)?
- Can the OL return to dominance? Clearly they were the biggest culprit for last year’s major regression on the offensive side of the ball.
- How will Hurts respond to yet another new Offensive coordinator and completely different style of offense.

If the OL returns to form and the passing game is good, this team will be a SB contender.
2819202, Cam Ward will be a bust and it's not really his fault
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Sun Sep-13-26 02:49 PM
bro just had the misfortune of being drafted by us in one of the most incompetent and talent deficient periods a team has ever put on wax.
2819209, yeah, it's rough. i feel bad for him.
Posted by PROMO, Mon Sep-14-26 10:07 AM
maybe he gets traded and has a geno type resurgence once he gets on a team with decent ANYTHING, cuz the Titans got NOTHING.
2819215, Ionno, he never seems to throw on schedule
Posted by legsdiamond, Tue Sep-15-26 11:29 AM
he looks like a poor ass Caleb Williams.

I know its the Titans but are these guys never open or is he looking for college open?

2819319, he needed to be sitting behind a vet
Posted by Dr Claw, Fri Oct-02-26 05:47 PM
and for that team to get into non-ass form before he starts. Even if were just a few weeks.

Titans are committing all kinds of malpractice there.
2819214, As a Seahawks fan, this Kenneth Walker III narrative is exhausting.
Posted by PROMO, Tue Sep-15-26 09:04 AM
It's gonna be like this all season, and I hate it.
2819216, whats the narrative? Shoulda paid him?
Posted by legsdiamond, Tue Sep-15-26 11:30 AM
I agree

Not a fan of winning with guys and then moving on after their first fucking contract.

reward a brotha.
2819217, the entire world is like, "Look at this ONE game...
Posted by PROMO, Tue Sep-15-26 02:53 PM
Seahawks fucked up/can't believe they let him walk/etc."

Okay, I feel like this needs to be said for all NFL fans since Seattle is like the Antarctica of the NFL and it feels like no one ever knows what's going on here: Kenneth Walker III split carries with Charbonnet because there were things he wasn't great at and because he had an injury history. You guys only saw him at his peak. They had more important players that had to get paid ahead of him, and they offered him a contract they felt was fair based on his history (and I agree with the team). He felt he was worth more, and someone gave him more.

They had to pay JSN, Spoon, D Hall, Big Cat and those are all players who are more important to the team makeup, scheme, and chemistry than K9. The Seahawks have rarely valued the RB position THAT highly, and they drafted K9's replacement.

So, the fact that we are in our own world up here and the national fanbase is clueless about our organization, the players on it, and how we operate...well, this narrative just becomes exhausting.

Both sides moved on, to the benefit of both sides.

2819230, Giants may have finally be on the right path, but the QB is MAGA
Posted by DJR, Sat Sep-19-26 11:30 AM
Smh.
2819239, half the league is MAGA
Posted by Mynoriti, Sun Sep-20-26 11:14 PM
If i worried about player's politics too much I probably wouldn't be able to watch football

But I do get why guys like Dart and Bosa feel more hateable
2819243, he just seems like such a bitch about it
Posted by DJR, Mon Sep-21-26 04:25 PM
Introducing Trump at an event putting it front and center in the news and making it a big story. Not needed.

And I guess him wearing his chain and doing his little dances and rapping for the cameras doesn’t sit right with me - kid is from Utah and is a Trumper, playing dress up for cool points.

That said, he did play a great game in week 1. Can’t take anything away from that. I just find him hard to like and hard to root for.
2819245, no arguments there
Posted by Mynoriti, Mon Sep-21-26 07:34 PM
2819251, ……..umm…..at least Jameis is likable and easy to root for
Posted by DJR, Tue Sep-22-26 04:09 PM
But damn, he played horribly. Like, one of the worst games I’ve ever seen a decent QB play.

Im going to assume it was just a bad game under difficult circumstances, and that he will play much better going forward. He’s got all week to prepare as the starter, and it’s the Titans and not the Rams. He played pretty well in his 2 starts last year. In all likelihood he’ll be ok, but man it’s hard to get past how bad he looked yesterday.
2819252, his arm looks cooked
Posted by Mynoriti, Tue Sep-22-26 06:31 PM
but its generally the Jameis experience. He'll look elite until he throws a pick six to lose the game, or he goes 400 yards 4 TDs and 4 INTs

He's a fun likeable guy but there's a reason he's a career backup

The Giants are boned
2819254, completely
Posted by cgonz00cc, Wed Sep-23-26 08:51 PM
or in terrible condition

but either way, nothing behind those throws
2819253, he was goofing off at the world cup all summer he aint ready to play lol
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Wed Sep-23-26 07:56 PM
2819358, Jameis 2-0 as a starter!
Posted by DJR, Sun Oct-04-26 09:56 PM
Today was classic Jameis - 2 horrible picks, but 3 great TD passes. I’ll take it! It wasn’t boring, we won, and I can actually root for him.
2819240, Raiders feeling like an actual NFL team
Posted by Mynoriti, Sun Sep-20-26 11:21 PM
I'm not delusional and they still have a ways to go to really be relevant but the improvement feels legit

Upcoming schedule is brutal though
2819242, i love to see it.
Posted by PROMO, Mon Sep-21-26 10:01 AM
even moreso when they are whooping up on Herbert and Harbaugh's bum asses.
2819244, if i was Herbert id want to be moved
Posted by Mynoriti, Mon Sep-21-26 07:33 PM
The talent is there but he's done nothing and he's trash when it matters. I legit dont know if its a Herbert thing or a Chargers thing

Even yesterday's game, he had so many guys drop balls on him, but its but its also not like he was lights out, and i get sick of people making excuses for him
2819255, i never thought he was good at any point
Posted by cgonz00cc, Wed Sep-23-26 08:52 PM
including college
2819256, He has an NFL arm so he gets a pass
Posted by legsdiamond, Thu Sep-24-26 12:11 PM
Orlasky said Herbert is what an NFL QB looks like..

not Hurts
2819320, That Oregon System Trick Y'all!! - Dr. Claw
Posted by Dr Claw, Fri Oct-02-26 05:49 PM
Herbert has the physical tools and abilities but he might need to "Darnold" his way into a good system (i.e. a 49ers type team) before he gets over the hump

but I'm starting to see a pattern.

At least Mariota is making something out of nothing, this far down the line. Injuries robbed him from being good.
2819329, Bo Nix is in his perfect system and he still siucks
Posted by cgonz00cc, Fri Oct-02-26 07:25 PM
ill say this though. I was actually at Dante Moore's first ever game as a h.s. freshman. Detroit King played my alma mater in a season opener, and we were too much for them over 48 mins but midway thru the 1st quarter, my friend and I agreed that we were watching an NFL player.

2819241, QB1 all he does is win.

2819322, ass QB but I understand the decision
Posted by Dr Claw, Fri Oct-02-26 05:51 PM
Harbaugh + a QB that on paper, could play similar to Dart

the Ravenization of the Giants is in process.
2819451, JJ looked good today
Posted by DJR, Sun Oct-18-26 04:02 PM
Desperation time against a defense sitting on a lead, but he showed mobility to escape the rush and a big time arm.

Can definitely see he has the physical tools. I hope he develops the game management type shit and takes Dart’s spot. Dart can run and throw short, but his downfield passing is terrible.
2819308, Happy for the Browns. Not happy for Watson.
Posted by PROMO, Fri Oct-02-26 10:50 AM
that's a smudge on a silver lining.

also, fuck Rodgers so that Browns dub was even more enjoyable.
2819315, Roman Wilson outperformed MHJ's whole season last night
Posted by cgonz00cc, Fri Oct-02-26 03:02 PM
Roman Wilson last night, 74 yds and 1 TD

MHJ on the year, 73 yards and 0 TD

yikes!
2819415, MHJ + 7th to HOU for a 2nd + 6th...midgame lol
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sun Oct-11-26 05:06 PM
maybe Nico's tutelage and his college QB can save his career

Nico gets so much attention that there should be 1v1 opportunities all over the place

2819317, looks like the Eagles are repeating that 2024 season script
Posted by Dr Claw, Fri Oct-02-26 05:35 PM
because it sure looks like they'll be 2-2 come Monday. That Bears game was atrocious in so many different ways. They gotta do something about Cam Jurgens. Drew Kendall has been good at center. Tyler Steen is all right. But Jurgens be fucking up so much shit that the whole line suffers. He ain't right.

Just like the game vs the Bucs in 2024, the Eagles will be facing the Rams with no Smitty, no Baun, still no Dallas Goedert (Zach Ertz is back), and the OL yet to put together a solid game all around.

Safety and Linebacker play has been ass. Campbell and Mukuba not looking like they get what they need to do. Cooper DeJean is taking a step back. Jalen Carter is playing hurt.

Sirianni is meddling with this new offense. Jalen's pass chart is looking better as far as targets and points of the field, but against the Bears... the playcalling didn't even give him a chance. Run on 1st no gain. Dumb screen play on 2nd for a loss. "Save Us Jalen" on 3rd and long. This after a half where they finally managed to stop running on 1st, actually ran the ball well, and were driving only to be derailed by penalties and acts of Andy Dalton (GET HIM OFF MY TEAM)

I'm just gonna chill. That Bears game had me heated just for the game plan in the second half. Ryan Day type bullshit and you were DOWN a score.

2819318, The Browns being 3-1 is hilarious
Posted by Dr Claw, Fri Oct-02-26 05:42 PM
Week 1 was a disaster. Watson looked washed. Defense gave nothing. Duuuuuuval Blow Out. Looked like the worst team in the league.

And then 3 straight wins built off 4th quarter game winning drives from Deshaun Watson. LOL. Two home wins where the fans were chanting "Let's Go Watson".

Watson hasn't been actually great though. He's playing like a guy regaining his footing. But them rookie WRs and Harold Fannin, and Todd Monken's playbook... is making it possible.

I wasn't feeling that TNF profile of Watson with Taylor Rooks. It looked like the NFL was trying to be friends but honestly I think they trying to set dude up with all the vagueness of "what he went through". They can't talk about the details, and CERTAINLY can't present that story in a way that breaks the taboos but might be more truthful, so what's the point? To get people in the peanut gallery mad? Nah. Stay over there with that. Keep it short and sweet.

The defense is coming alive, even though Jared Verse ain't quite been present.

I already thought it was funny that the Browns beat the Bucs (Baker) after all that shit, but ... the Browns might actually be good?

Elite drafting from Andrew "The Apprentice" Berry. Howie looking funny in the light.

I need the Browns to keep winning. Anything to dissuade Jimmy Haslam from ordering the draft of Arch Manning. Dude should be looking like Clemson Deshaun Watson on that Texas team and dominate the "Natty favorite" talks. But he looks like store brand Quinn Ewers who can run. How you ain't blowing out UTSA breh?

All that shit these dickeaters said about Shedeur (who is better) applies to Arch times 10000.

Arch's best chance in the NFL is to end up in a coach/team situation like Sean Payton/Donkeys. They got Bo Nix looking on average, all right. That's what he's gonna need in the pros, because dude is a couple doors down from ass.

2819355, I didn't expect to beat the Chiefs
Posted by Mynoriti, Sun Oct-04-26 07:40 PM
Obviously wanted it. Usually Raiders Chiefs i give us about a 7% chance. Going into today i had it at about 20-25%. We normally just get humiliated

Take the fumble on special teams away and the Raiders win this I feel pretty good about this team's progress in a season that's basically supposed to be a rebuild
2819356, that was brutal

yeah i mean, i'm sure it sucks to lose that game for the Raiders, but they played well and had a good shot to win...probably should have won tbh...there's no moral victories but if i was a REAL Raiders fan i'd feel ok today (i'm a fan only by family relation, lol)....any other Raiders team in the last 10 (???) years probably gets COOKED by KC
