damn OKSports I was already expecting this post to be made...I guess folks don't come back after the site goes on the fritz for such long stretches...

2815676, Him posting a screenshot of the PR firm apology as his apology... Posted by Frank Longo, Fri Apr-25-25 08:32 PM
... was definitely an incredibly funny misstep. Not even really something that affects much, just goes to show how disinterested dude is in taking cautionary measures at any step.

2815710, He has stepped down from previous posts due to SA allegations Posted by The Bobblehead Man, Sat Apr-26-25 10:02 AM
He tried to give this person $10 million to be quiet. I don't have any sympathy for him but it's wild because of how prolific he has become.

Skip has his own issues in this regard as well; he's just chosen to be a lot more private about the matter.
I'm assuming him and his lawyers are going to let the case play out in court as opposed to Shannon who chose to be public about the matter.

one would think that after an entire pro career without scandal he would have known better.
assuming this comes out as him just being extra freaked out (which shouldn't lose him what he's gained but this fake sanctimony will take NIGGAS out like none other) and not a sexual assaulter, for which there is no excuse and he should be punished, not to be classist, but celebrity seems to almost require you having someone who knew you before all that, or pairing with someone who has things to lose.

has there been an instance of an ESPN talking head having lurid sexual exploits leaked out and been available for public consumption such as what has gone down with Shannon? The fact Disney owns ESPN makes me think all of his dirty laundry being out there will hurt his chances of him coming back, legal or not.
Speaking of the legal side of things, the fact the accused went the civil route compared to the criminal route hurts Shannon since it'll be easier for the accuser to find Shannon liable as compared to finding him guilty of any criminal offenses, correct?

2815793, Can't think of an ESPNer, Marv Albert is most notorious but NBC/TNT Posted by Beamer6178, Mon Apr-28-25 12:01 PM

The fact >Disney owns ESPN makes me think all of his dirty laundry being >out there will hurt his chances of him coming back, legal or >not. you are not incorrect. and even though Club Shay Shay is his, sponsors are not trying to be tied to that, and his 9 figure deal is WELL DONE.

absolutely. not only is the standard in civil matters 51%, but the public square gets to beat it around endlessly (no pun intended).

2815809, this will likely end in court for less than the $10 million he offered Posted by Beamer6178, Tue Apr-29-25 01:16 AM
but the damage is done to his image and media career.
in terms of the work he did, he was one of the most focused and unapologetic voices period when Kaep was being whiteballed. That was quality work, and all that gets washed away.
this is why our people can't have anything

Hell Clooney was out swinging dick into his mid to late 40s, if I recall correctly.
But at 56 you ain't got no business messing with a 19 year old. Fuck, I wouldn't go lower than 40 at that point.
At some point, you gotta leave them young girls alone.

2815827, nah that's extreme. age and maturity frequently don't correlate. Posted by 3xKrazy, Wed Apr-30-25 07:30 AM

2815941, Oh! You're 33 Posted by spades, Mon May-05-25 01:21 PM
Well 19 is STILL too young for you play boy. You really shouldn't be messing with anything south of Drinking age but do you.
For context I'm 45. I have a daughter older than 19 so lol I'm good!

2815843, am i kidding that a 56 year old male Posted by 3xKrazy, Wed Apr-30-25 10:11 PM
doesnt need to make an arbitrary cutoff in his dating pool to 40 and up?
no, im not. because that's absurd.
>Are you kidding?
|
2815830, I think "frequently" is a big ol' stretch, lol. Posted by Frank Longo, Wed Apr-30-25 11:59 AM
There are certainly mature younger women and immature older women, but the general correlation of age and maturity is pretty indisputable.
|
2815845, IME "often times" there are outliers within the pool of single people Posted by 3xKrazy, Wed Apr-30-25 10:28 PM
> but the general correlation of age and maturity is >pretty indisputable.
and im guessing woman would say the same about men
not sure what data exists that would prove or disprove 'maturity' levels within the demographic of single people trying to date
obviously dating a 19 year old at 56 is ridiculous but if you're targeting 40 year olds instead 32 year olds because you think it's going to make life any easier then good luck.
|
2815871, that goal post must be light as a feather.. lol Posted by legsdiamond, Thu May-01-25 11:45 AM
|
2815873, What is the goal post you feel I’m moving? Posted by 3xKrazy, Thu May-01-25 12:35 PM
You’re going way too hard on this and making a lot of assumptions based on things that were never said.
You’re married, right? I think I recall you mentioning that at some point.
|
2815884, I think going from 56 to 19 to.. 40 or 32 is a huge stretch Posted by legsdiamond, Thu May-01-25 06:24 PM
I'm married but not sure what that has to do with this..
my brother is older than me and isn't married and I remember him telling me one time he looked up and he was the oldest guy in the club and it was at that moment he realized it was time to make a change.
Have another friend who is in the music industry and said one time he told an artist how old he was and she acted like he had aids... "eww. nigga you 40 and change, you are my moms age"
There comes a time when dudes have to face the music and ask themselves would they want their daughters dating a man their age?
are you dating much younger? lol
|
2815911, i commented on 56 to 40. and it wasn't my example. Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat May-03-25 09:50 AM
>I'm married but not sure what that has to do with this..
because if you're someone who's far removed from dating in the year 2025 then you're not in a position to be lecturing on what's what. my friends who married in their late 20's and 30's would be the first to tell you that they're clueless about what's going on nowadays.
and not saying this is you, but someone who's married *might* be salty about not being able to live the way they once did. or want to impose their lifestyle decisions on others.
>my brother is older than me and isn't married and I remember >him telling me one time he looked up and he was the oldest guy >in the club and it was at that moment he realized it was time >to make a change.
it's good that your brother made the decision that was right for him at the right time. the best decisions for others might look different. and hitting up the club isn't a requirement for anything dating related. that seems like a separate discussion altogether.
>Have another friend who is in the music industry and said one >time he told an artist how old he was and she acted like he >had aids... "eww. nigga you 40 and change, you are my moms >age"
and if your friend was 20 years younger she prob would've found some other way to make fun of him. who cares?
>There comes a time when dudes have to face the music and ask >themselves would they want their daughters dating a man their >age?
Not my place to tell other people what questions they need to ask themselves or who they need to be dating. why is it so important to you? let people live their lives and figure shit out on their own timetable, just like your brother did.
>are you dating much younger? lol
not currently "dating" and I'm retired from the apps. but when i was doing it for real i dated all ages, occupations, education level, etc. in the context of dating we're all a lot more similar than we are different IMO.

he was linked to famous women for the most part, folks with things to lose and independent wealth of their own. changes the dynamic entirely.

2815939, What an interesting turn this post took. Posted by Numba_33, Mon May-05-25 12:39 PM
From questioning Shannon's dating follies to breaking down the dating habits of an amateur weight lifter.
I guess that isn't too odd given how weird things are in general in 2025.
And if you're a professional weightlifter BrooklynWHAT, my apologies.
|
2815942, there's really no such thing as a professional powerlifter Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Mon May-05-25 01:25 PM
some powerlifting federations give out "pro cards" like it's bodybuilding but that's basically a marketing gimmick and it doesn't really mean shit. its just an expensive, time consuming hobby even for the best of the best
everyone has a day job that comes first. if i think of some of the top level lifters some of the folks that come to mind are software engineers, doctors, gym owners, day traders, investment bankers, etc. me personally i work in sales.
