to have that kind of drop off, and if you throw in those pandemic years ,which was a huge interruption for some players, that played a role as well.
If he were a much older player then yeah I would understand the lack of interest, but for a 27 year old who has already proven his elite two-way ability, I think you have to make an exception in that situation.
You just don’t turn your back on an elite player, who is possibly JUST entering his prime because of 2-3 years of bad baseball..
MVP, WS,etc should have brought him another year or 2 with the Dodgers.
Hell Juan Soto looks like he is going through something similar, is 24, was terrible last year, and is now batting .174…wonder if Padres will lose interest if he continues to struggle.
