according to schefter Hurts cap hit by year
2023: 6.5 mill
2024: 13 mill
2025: 22.7 mill
2026: 31.5 mi
now, either they doing some smoke and mirrors or that last year is a shit ton of money Hurts wont see unless if he gets extended and they roll it into the next contract.
Huge Hurts fan, I wanted the Steelers to draft him. Happy for him.
But maybe my Blackness is forcing me to defend Lamar. He wants all the money.. not the news cycle AAV money that lakes headlines but leaves a nice chunk he can’t get too due to the way they structure these contracts. He wont get a Watson deal but I’m not sure this contract is one Lamar should sign.
Hurts had 1 good year. Lamar has a good 3 years of high quality football before this shit show. He deserves more than Hurts IMO.
