Post non coaching moves, news, etc here.

We got 6 months.
2783177, Juju is classless. AJ Brown responds.

and now there's real Eagles/Chiefs beef

2783178, Lame as hell..but funny as fock.
Posted by allStah, Tue Feb-14-23 04:39 PM
I can’t even front.
2783180, disagree partially.
Posted by PROMO, Tue Feb-14-23 04:41 PM
it'd be super funny if someone random tweeted that.

it coming from Juju makes it classless.

but hey, i am here for the beef.
2783183, I feel you…but I don’t mind a little garbage talking.
Posted by allStah, Tue Feb-14-23 04:48 PM
Plus it’s innocent.

And shit, if you wear the crown and hold the jewels, you own the mic!

can there really be interconference beef when the teams will probably see each other once every few years if that?
2783181, you KNOW the schedule makers already have them...
Posted by PROMO, Tue Feb-14-23 04:42 PM
matched up though, as they always do w/ the last SB participants.

so, that'll be a fun game w/ some extra spice now.
2783184, They play next season. so it’s up

I hate when attention seeking bandwagon players actually win a ring and act like they were some sort of Pro Bowl level contributor.
2783194, he averaged 29 yards per game in the postseason
Posted by will_5198, Wed Feb-15-23 12:15 AM
I don't even care about shit-talking, this is just JuJu getting the attention he craves
2783191, “1 Year Deal” and “Tik Tok Boy” are actually the funniest parts

2783197, Tik Tok Boy is HILARIOUS
Posted by Sofian_Hadi, Wed Feb-15-23 09:14 AM
Saying the quiet part out loud is funny as hell too. Everyone knows what a one year deal means. Lol

2783258, rematch coming in regular season
Posted by Dr Claw, Thu Feb-16-23 09:28 AM
if JuJu is still there, he getting sent to TikTok Hell.
2783259, Eagles
Posted by Dr Claw, Thu Feb-16-23 09:31 AM
- bye bye Steichen, hello Brian Robinson
- GTFO Gannon. Need a Wade Phillips-esque replacement IMO. Dunno if they elevate Dennard. He interviewed for Browns job

- lots of guys going in FA. I think Hargrave, CJGJ are priorities.
- O-Line considerations (does Kelce retire?)
- if Browns part with Kareem Hunt, Eagles should bring him in

Next season is NFC West, AFC East on 1st place schedule. Chiefs on the menu. That game will certainly be televised.

Also means:
49ers (next to the Chiefs, there's been a lot of SHIT from the actual players. Might be the next Packers/Niners)
Cardinals (F-U Gannon)
Bucs (no Boody, but owed an asswhipping)
Cheatriots (Belicheat vs New Look Eagles)

Sunday Ticket moves to YouTube TV which... I dunno about.

Really wish NFL would give that Amazon Prime TNF the BOOT. Guaranteed piracy with it being over there. Keep Jeff Bezos out of this shit, and away from the Landover Football Team.
2783260, Someone take Tannehill awaaaaaaay
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Thu Feb-16-23 09:42 AM
That is my wish for this season.
2783913, Carson Wentz cut...
Posted by Dstl1, Mon Feb-27-23 03:43 PM
feels like only yesterday he did that press conference in a Commanders colored suit. He done right? Or is there ONE MORE TEAM out there who can see him standing tall in the pocket for in their uniform?
2783915, He tall and white so he will get signed somewhere
Posted by calij81, Mon Feb-27-23 04:01 PM
Tennessee, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Atlanta might give him a chance.
2783953, i think he's one of those "as long as he wants to be on a team" guys.
Posted by PROMO, Tue Feb-28-23 12:37 AM

He NEEDS to get his Geno on...curl up as a backup for a couple/few years. Get his silly ass healthy, live off the grid, and dare to try to get better at the stuff he's bad at.

2784005, Eagles coordinators set.
Posted by Dr Claw, Tue Feb-28-23 08:46 PM
Asiatic Warrior Brian Johnson promoted.
Asian Warrior Sean Desai welcomed to the fold.

Desai interviewed for the Browns job before this.

With the Bears, I like that he actually don't have DBs sitting yards off the DBs. He has a "chitlin cookin" resume. Think he might not screw the Eagles like St. Ed's Gannon.

Let's go

Has a Drew Breezy feel to it, plus the NFC south is weak as shit.

Saints have talented receivers, TE and a great RB…

This makes them true contenders out of the NFC…other than the Eagles aint shit else
a strong lock.

Only problem though, no Sean Payton.

I feel for Winston. He might be outta the nfl soon. Rumor has it is that he is going to
get released.

2784667, Cook is a rare back who you can’t “just find in the 4th round”
Posted by Tiger Woods, Fri Mar-10-23 11:47 AM
That’s conventional wisdom nowadays, that RBs grow on trees and you can just find them in the fourth round

But Dalvin Cook when healthy is special. Wonder what they’re asking for
2784672, In this situation you can, Jefferson is option 1
Posted by allStah, Fri Mar-10-23 01:27 PM
.and .they have a TE who might be option 2, so they don’t need a RB that is
an option 1, but will not be used as an option 1 so they can save on the salary cap.

Plus they have Mattison who is a similar RB who they can resign for a lot less.

Colts are in a little bit of a bind if they only favored 3 of the top 4 quarterbacks, but I think they should just stand pat and take whoever falls to them

2784725, Great move by both clubs.
Posted by allStah, Sat Mar-11-23 07:37 PM
I’m not thrilled or sold YET on Fields. Those who watch college football know how
he has always been a shit passer. He just has great athleticism. Can’t blame the WRs
any longer, which has always been bull crap. DJ Moore is a stud number 1. So now
you got two 1000 yard receivers, WR playmaker, talented TE and two good RBs.

Chesspool came over for half of season and he got scapegoated..

For the panthers they now have good management in place who know
what they are doing. They have two stud RBs and still got talent at the WR
position. They just need a qb.

It’s either CJ or Bryce. That’s it, so they have an entire month to decide, which
is going to be hard a shit. Bryce is more talented, but his size poses a major concern.
CJ has the size, but we all know how OS QBs fair in the NFL.

lost 3 dudes on D. PRAYING they keep CJ. If he goes to Broncos how it's looking, I'm lowering expectations for next season.

Hargrave going to the fuckin' 49ers.

Jonathan Gannon will burn in Hell. Get ready Cardinals fans (if you exist here), y'all and the Niners got the joint Boody Slot this season. and I'm watching the Bears...

The NFC East teams get another reprieve from the top of the hate vacuum.

At least Kelce is coming back, but that has O-Line implications. Dillard already gone. Seumalo is as good as gone.

On the other hand in AFC Agenda World:

Browns had a decent day 1. Got Okoronkwo from Texans (formerly Rams as well). Also got Dalvin Tomlinson, which is a major sign that the front office is serious about fixing the garbage from last season. Ethan Pocic (standout, surprise center) resigned on the low. After giving both Woods and Priefer the boot and replacing them with Schwartz and Ventrone (former Brown, late of the Colts) respectively, if the Eagles take the dive I think they might with that salary cap doom cloud over them, you know where the agenda lies.

I too am confused. Real talk though, if that's the deal they laid at his feet, he should jump on that like a fumble, log his azz off, and make sure he's ready to (whoo) ride.

That way, if things go well, he's free 3 years from now and he could make at least one more big mega chunk from the league. At least.

He needs to change the lazy narratives on him. The Ravens need to get him at least one real life adult WR to go with the other stuff they've collected. And hell, if teams are still being weird about taking care of a good RB, they need to try to roll up on one of them too.

you had Adams, Waller, Renfrow... if the point was to trade Waller (for a fucking 3rd round pick??) to free up cap space, then why spend that money on Jacoby Meyers when you already have Renfrow at slot? i assume Renfrow is next to go.

they alraedy disrespected Jacobs last season by not picking up his option. he responds by putting his head down and getting the rushing title, only to get franchise tagged. whatever happens, i can't be mad at him

If i had some reason to beieve Zeigler and McDaniels were playing chess and i should trust the process, i'd feel better, but they have yet to provide any proof that they're anything but trash at this.

Some of these RB deals are looking Kroger/FLOrida low. So there's no telling what DAL was trying to get Zeke back in for. And there's no telling what he's going to get out on the market unless someone just loves him. I keep looking at that Cincy situation..some RB needs to get themselves over there if/when they move off of Mixon. Ekeler. Zeke. Somebody. Try to get at least what Montgomery got and potentially enjoy some high quality work if people there stay healthy.

And someone needs to go be the thunder to Pollard's lightning in DAL too. Maybe they give that gig to someone they already have.
2785095, he could certainly help a bunch of teams...

at the right price, of course. He doesn't have the top end, sprinter speed he used to have, due to time and injuries...but, healthy Zeke is still quick on his feet, runs very hard and is ELITE in pass pro.

2784957, Source: LB Lavonte David back with Buccaneers
Posted by Marbles, Wed Mar-15-23 02:03 PM

I know it's just for one year but I love it. He's my favorite cat on this defense and I would hate to see him leave the squad.

***

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35865834/source-lb-lavonte-david-back-12th-season-buccaneers

Linebacker Lavonte David is returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a one-year contract, according to the source.

The deal is worth $7 million with incentives that can push the total value to $8 million, the source said.

The team's longest-tenured player has wanted to remain with Tampa Bay for the duration of his career and has said he hopes to one day join the Buccaneers Ring of Honor.

"It would be incredible," he said. "As a kid I never really thought of something like that. Now that it's possibly a reality. It's just kind of mind-blowing to be next to a guy like Derrick Brooks, who you kind of like watched and kind of idolized, and then Ronde , who you actually played with."

David, who has been a team captain for nine of his 11 seasons with the Buccaneers, has long been considered the heart and soul of the team by multiple coaches and front-office personnel and a true throwback player in terms of work ethic and dedication.

He continues to play at a high level despite seldom receiving recognition in Pro Bowl voting, although he has been named an All-Pro three times. In 2022, David, who turned 33 in January, returned from a Lisfranc injury to finish with a team-leading 124 combined tackles (80 solo).

David is the Buccaneers' best linebacker in coverage, and he still has the speed to track ball carriers and to blitz the quarterback, tallying 29 sacks over his career.

Overall, his 949 solo tackles are the most of any player in the league since 2012, as are his 18 fumble recoveries. His 143 tackles for a loss rank fifth in the league since 2012, behind J.J. Watt, Aaron Donald, Cameron Jordan and Von Miller.

He and Pro Football Hall of Famer Ray Lewis are the only two players in NFL history with more than 1,000 tackles, 20 sacks and 10 interceptions through their first eight NFL seasons.

David ranks third in franchise history for tackles (1,345), fifth in games played (166) and fourth in starts (166).

Got Woods the fuck up out, replaced him with Jim Schwartz
Got Priefer the fuck up out, replaced him with Bubba Ventrone

Just added Elijah Moore from the Jets for the cost of #42, and got #74 back. That is a fuckin amazing deal in the context of this roster.

A proven talent, gave up no players to get him. Amari Cooper Deal Part 2

In addition to the following moves:
Dalvin Tomlinson (DT, from Vikings and Giants)
Ogbo Okoronkwo (DE, from Texans and Rams)
Juan Thornhill (S, from Chiefs)

Other moves they've made:
Ethan Pocic (3-year deal, former backup now starting C)
Josh Dobbs (QB, 1-year deal as backup)
Anthony Walker (LB, 1-year deal, re-sign)
Sione Takitaki (LB, 1-year deal, re-sign)
Jordan Akins (TE, from Texans)
Maurice Hurst (DL, most recently from 49ers)
Trysten Hill (DL, most recently from Raiders)

Special Teams pick ups:
Jordan Kunaszyk (LB, re-sign)
Mike Ford (CB, 1 year deal)

Patterns with these pick: proven vets, young guys on a flyer with upside, younger players on manageable deals.

Andrew Berry just did the Dog Piss celebration on the rest of the division just far, and there's more to come.

Didn't build the house but renovated the fuck out of it. None of these are hypebeast picks.

After all, he came from the Eagles.

Mike didn't come back to being the real Mike Vick until the 2010 season, about a year after he came back to football. The Eagles were doing things like putting either he or McNabb wide in "Wildcat" packages.

atop that, the Browns offensive line health went to complete dogshit when he came back in. Stefanski didn't really have much of a time to build an offense around Deshaun without him being available for practices.

we gonna see Houston Deshaun next season.

Shit is expensive

https://blog.youtube/news-and-events/nfl-sunday-ticket-presale-2023/

Whether you’re rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs to repeat their Super Bowl-winning championship season, or faithfully following your team, this upcoming NFL season is sure to bring all the can’t-miss excitement you know and love.
Regardless of where you purchase, NFL Sunday Ticket will be available across web, TV, mobile and tablet devices that support YouTube and YouTube TV, with no hidden fees or satellite dish needed.

Looking to keep up with the action? Now’s your chance! Starting today, fans can lock in inaugural pricing for next season’s NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV and YouTube Primetime Channels.1 Regardless of where you purchase, NFL Sunday Ticket will be available across web, TV, mobile and tablet devices that support YouTube and YouTube TV, with no hidden fees or satellite dish needed. Consisting of all out-of-market Sunday regular-season NFL games (based on viewer's location) broadcast on FOX and CBS, NFL Sunday Ticket allows fans in the United States the ability to follow all their favorite teams and players no matter where they live.

Users will begin seeing the option to sign up over the next few days. New and existing YouTube TV members will be able to add NFL Sunday Ticket as an add-on, and viewers who purchase through Primetime Channels can do so in several places across YouTube, such as the Movies & TV hub, NFL’s channel and watch page, and search results.

For our YouTube TV members with a Base Plan, the NFL Sunday Ticket add-on is available during the presale at $249 for the season, a special launch offer savings of $100 off the retail price of $349 for the season. We are also offering a bundle option with NFL Sunday Ticket and NFL RedZone for a total of $289 for the season during the presale, another launch offer of $100 off the retail price of $389 for the season. Fans who sign up for NFL Sunday Ticket with the YouTube TV Base Plan will have access to not only 100+ live channels, but also every Sunday game, including local, national, and out-of-market games.
And for viewers who just want NFL Sunday Ticket without the full YouTube TV offering, we got you covered. For the first time, NFL Sunday Ticket is broadly available without a satellite subscription through YouTube Primetime Channels.

On Primetime Channels, NFL Sunday Ticket is available during the presale at $349 for the season, a special launch offer savings of $100 off the retail price of $449 for the season. And the bundled NFL Sunday Ticket and NFL Redzone option is available during the presale at $389 for the season, another launch offer of $100 off the retail price of $489 for the season.
Our teams have been hard at work building a great experience for fans as we inch closer to the 2023 NFL season. On YouTube TV, members will have access to features like the brand new multiview as well as unlimited DVR storage, personalized recommendations, the ability to view key plays, NFL Fantasy data, real time stats and hide spoilers.

And we’re also bringing some of these innovations to NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube Primetime Channels, such as key plays and multiview. Users who subscribe through Primetime Channels will see live NFL games featured prominently in their feeds, so they can quickly jump into the action on game days, directly on YouTube. We are also working on adding shopping integrations so viewers can easily buy merchandise to support their teams, and social features that YouTube users are already familiar with, like chat, polls, and more.
With only a few more months until football is back, we’re nearing the end zone. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on.

I just find myself watching less football than ever. I only prioritize the Skins, and if anything I’d rather watch more Reg season College than NFL

That said, that you could get Sunday Ticket AND Red Zone for less than $300 for a season does seem pretty fair to me. That’s about 15-20 per week right? Not bad IMO. Again I’m just not consuming that much NFL in my life right now with 3 kids and good weather in DC until mid-November

since Sling fucked up and hadn’t reached a deal with NFL Network, the day before the season started. NFL Redzone was an absolute dealbreaker, so I dipped. I could not be happier, even with the recent price increase. That being said, I’m cool on Sunday Ticket. I’ll stick to my ritual of adding the package that contains Redzone, from September to January.

𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: Jalen Hurts, Eagles agree to terms on five-year, $255 million contract extension, per @RapSheet + @TomPelissero
The Eagles and their superstar quarterback agreed to terms Monday on a five-year, $255 million contract extension that makes him the highest-paid player in NFL history, per sources.

Hurts' deal has $179.304 million in total guarantees, including $110 million fully guaranteed at signing and $126.5 million fully guaranteed by March 2024, as well as the first no-trade clause in Eagles history -- another sign of the franchise's faith in Hurts, who is still only 24 years old.

The Eagles QB can earn an additional $15 million in incentives, giving him an opportunity to make as much as $274.304 million through 2028, including $4.304 million that he would've been due in the last year of his original rookie contract this season.

Hurts gets a raise in 2023, including a $23.294 million signing bonus, and will make $64 million through the first new year in 2024. The Eagles now have him under contract for the next six years, on a deal that preserves their flexibility to keep the team intact around him.

The deal was negotiated by Hurts' agent, Nicole Lynn, and is believed to be the largest contract ever completed by a female agent.

So...51 million a year where roughly 3 years of it is 'guaranteed'? Maybe really 3.5 years worth of the contract?

Seems pretty good for both the Eagles and Hurts to me! Cuz we know that contracts are going to keep growing. I'm guessing Burrow gets similar money to this but MAYBE more years on it if he agrees to that 'to try to help the team' while locking in more guaranteed money?

I'm assuming that the league as a whole have declared 'yeah, that Watson contract ain't what we're doing..that was some Cleveland shit', right? Hopefully THAT isn't want Lamar is hung up on while other cats are starting to align their pockets.

Now, is someone going to fall out of a tree to tell us that Lamar got offered something similar to this Hurts and turned it down? 3 for 144 all guaranteed was the last thing I remember seeing for him.

according to schefter Hurts cap hit by year

2023: 6.5 mill
2024: 13 mill
2025: 22.7 mill
2026: 31.5 mi

now, either they doing some smoke and mirrors or that last year is a shit ton of money Hurts wont see unless if he gets extended and they roll it into the next contract.

Huge Hurts fan, I wanted the Steelers to draft him. Happy for him.

But maybe my Blackness is forcing me to defend Lamar. He wants all the money.. not the news cycle AAV money that lakes headlines but leaves a nice chunk he can’t get too due to the way they structure these contracts. He wont get a Watson deal but I’m not sure this contract is one Lamar should sign.

Hurts had 1 good year. Lamar has a good 3 years of high quality football before this shit show. He deserves more than Hurts IMO.

2787415, Khan is making his presence known as the GM
Posted by legsdiamond, Tue Apr-18-23 02:47 PM
Colbert was old and way too traditional.

Khan trades Claypool for the 32nd pick. Picks up some beef from the Philly OL and now adds a nice target “if healthy” who will only cost us $5 mill this year.

If we get another weapon in the draft and an OT early its ON!!!!

My prediction, Kenny and Tomlin will be in the SB within the next 3 years.
2787487, RE: Khan is making his presence known as the GM
Posted by blueeclipse, Wed Apr-19-23 09:58 AM
100% agree on Colbert. Colbert was an outstanding GM but the last half of his tenure outside of TJ Watt and trading for Minkah hasn't been great. That may not be fair to him seeing as he drafted 2 HOF players in his first 10 years.

The issue is the depth. His late round picks have never been great but they've been REALLY lacking the last 10 years. It wasn't as much of an issue before because Colbert always nailed the first 3 rounds pretty well but when he didn't later on it drained this team of depth.

On top of that he was never aggressive enough filling those holes.

Omar is out here taking swings and I'm here for it.

they not bet on or inside a team’s facility. They betted on college football.
I don’t think they understood the rules on that one, so I think that should have
been a fine instead of a suspension.

As far as the other players, they betted on NFL games. That’s a problem. All
players know that you can’t bet on your own sport. They should have known better.

That 2024 conditional 1st was probably the holdup, right? And that 'he gotta play 65% of the snaps tho!' was all the Jets could throw in there to try to 'protect' themselves?

Posted by legsdiamond, Thu Apr-27-23 05:10 PM
Hurts deserved to get paid but it's still 1 year of work.

Lamar is 45-16.. he is being paid for multiple years of carrying this offense on his back.

Hurts is being paid for 1 really good year IMO
2788438, It’s really not that big of a deal ..just a couple of
Posted by allStah, Thu Apr-27-23 05:11 PM
Million more.

The are both in line with each other… just increased it by a couple of million
to make Lamar fell like he won something…

That deal was on the table from the beginning..Lamar just thought he could
could get 280 mil guaranteed in the NFL…no other team offered him shit…so
he got that reality check.

Now he talking about let’s get it…FOH.

..I don't give a damn how many Black or gay people he's encountered without issue or how much he's done for the game.

The game isn't bigger than this LIFE.

Gruden is no better than the Klan, hiding their true nature.

People act like NFL coaches aren't influential for not only players, staff, & personnel, but also youth (often teenagers) with aspirations of someday earning a position within those orgs.

We don't allow known pedophiles access to these scenarios for fear of exposure and undue influence and its time we recognized sick and infectious racist behavior in the same manner.

We don't have to recount how Gruden's emails stated that gay players had no place in the league or that players kneeling in support of protest should be fired.

He should never be allowed to be a part of any professional sports in this country.

If the Bucs ever tried to bring him back/celebrate him in ANY WAY, I would immediately renounce any affiliation/fandom I hold with that org.

Fuck Jon Gruden and anyone making excuses for his bullshit. Keyshawn was right about him all along:

2792282, He should be reinstated. He did nothing to wrong.
Posted by allStah, Sat May-27-23 07:08 AM

Jon Gruden goes all the way back to Doug Williams
when he was the QB at Tampa back in the early 80s

Those were personal, private emails that were intentionally exposed as a diversion
In the Washington Redskins probe. We have all said and made disparaging comments
in emails, text messages, and direct messages in our personnel space. And those
comments were made when he was working at ESPN, and years prior to
that.

You got players and owners who have been arrested for DUIs and drug related charges
who were and are allowed to continue exist in the NFL.

No way should he have been forced to step down for making comments that were
prior to him being coach of the raiders.

Is Jon Gruden racist? Possibly

Does Gruden dislike gay people? Probably

But as a coach, and while he was on the job, he didn’t violate any nfl policies or codes.
This is about the protection of one’s occupation, and being wrongfully terminated ( or
in this case forced to resign).

2792283, You’re crazy these days people get fired over social media posts
Posted by ThaTruth, Sat May-27-23 07:52 AM
2792289, That is exactly my point.
Posted by allStah, Sat May-27-23 01:22 PM
It’s unfair retribution or an unfair punishment. The penalty doesn’t fit the
crime. For someone’s tenure or career to be extinguished over an opinion or
statement without the option of rehabilitation or reform.

If rehabilitation is provided for alcoholism, drug addiction, etc, then it
should be provided in that situation as well.

I’m not excusing racism, hate or inhumane actions, but justice is about
fairness and equity on both sides of the scale.

But my mind has a different perception when it comes to derogatory comments.
I have never been offended by WORDs and never will. Words and statements can be
edited or corrected without physical harm. Violence cannot. Words are not a physical
action, but an emotional verbal expression.

2792294, Redemption from addiction begins with admission...
Posted by CyrenYoung, Sat May-27-23 03:00 PM
..Gruden has yet to admit that he's racist.

Furthermore, he hasn't done any of the work to redeem himself when it comes to the abusive language and opinions he chose to share unprovoked (even in private convo).

While you may not be impacted by such abusive behavior, the same can't be said for everyone exposed to such behavior. As a matter of fact, I'd be willing to believe that Gruden himself was likely subjected to such behavior, resulting in such bigoted behavior in his own life.

That's the very definition of psychosis.

That said, NO EXCUSES.

If he wants a path back into any professional realm, it starts with admission and acceptance of the fact that he is, in fact, a racist/misogynist/bigot in denial.

Until then, its fuck him and anyone making excuses for this kind of behavior.

Again, zero tolerance.
