Imagine that, a coach that calls plays with a sense of desperation and a must win at all cost mentality....must be nice.

Utah got a TD off that medium field and then the game flipped on them

That SC defense was terrible all season long and never improved at all. They might have gotten worse.
2777638, good program but this year's utah is a downgrade from previous versions

not anywhere nearly as good on the OL/DL.
2777571, Gut check time for SC

Posted by allStah, Sat Dec-03-22 06:16 PM
It goes to the NCAA and university…..so it’s a championship that
doesn’t matter to him in regards to his future of career.

Secondly, it’s not for the NC in the grand scheme of things...

No one gives a Fock about UCF or Tulane

Prior to 1992, there were no Championship games! …zero. And all these non power
5 championship games are empty and boring as hell.

In NCAA basketball winning a conference championship gets an autobid into
a championship tournament…that’s not the case for football.

Football conference championships are overrated and almost meaningless.
2777680, players dont get money off an NC either
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Dec-03-22 06:36 PM
>Secondly, it’s not for the NC in the grand scheme of

2777685, True. But the games have way more meaning in the grand scheme
Posted by allStah, Sat Dec-03-22 07:37 PM
of things.

We could possibly have three major teams lose championship games and everything
will still stand as is.

Most of these championship games are simply TV fillers on a Friday and Saturday
when no one is at home or at the games ….because it is Christmas season.

People are out celebrating or shopping.
2777690, They mean nothing for a player that is a top draft pick or drafted
Posted by calij81, Sat Dec-03-22 07:49 PM
NFL scouts have enough film of all these players that the only things a championship game may break in a leg or ankle and then the player is fucked.
2777692, Agreed

2777701, I wonder if the logistics of getting through the halftime show counted?
Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Sat Dec-03-22 09:23 PM
Ideally the women may have continued to throw. But with the timing of the 2nd half coming up and the teams needing to take the field, I wonder if the number of throwing rounds was capped at two to allow for an easy transition to the 2nd half?

Yet fox gave Saban a platform to plead his case and create some sort of case for Bama. There is literally none. Bama kept showing up on graphics and guys had to do word gymnastics to try and make the case when they clearly didn’t believe they have a chance. And rightly so, they don’t.

I really thought USC AND TCU would handle biz so in my mind I was done with football season

I firmly believe(d) that the loser of The Game has no business vying for a nationa championship , but it’s damn near 2023 and the winds of change are upon us …

Talent wise we can matchup vs anyone , but we’re just missing those tough ass dawgs on defense we had in the past…the Shaziers Darron Lees Raekwon Macmillans Bosas Young etc

Aside from JtT our defense concerns me a lot , especially the back 7 , never thought I’d say that about an Ohio State defense

If Stroud picks up first downs w his legs and throws ? We can beat ANYONE , please run SOME RPO, just to keep them honest

. If he does his best Peyton Brady impression , he’s gonna be in for a long day against a n athletic UGA dline

NOBODY in the country can cover Messy Marv or JSN, I think our offense opens up way more w that threat looming and a healthy RB lineup and some gutsy play calling

Revenge is sweet , BUT the thought of possibly losing to Michigan twice in one year would send me into a dark place

2777745, it's not like OSU created this dumb system. this is a gift.
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sun Dec-04-22 10:09 AM
>but we’re just
>missing those tough ass dawgs on defense we had in the
>past…the Shaziers Darron Lees Raekwon Macmillans Bosas Young
>etc

they're missing execution and coaching. purdue was somehow 'tough enough' to get the call into their long snapper to execute their fake punt for a first down...to the same damn side that osu was supposed to run theirs.

catch the ball and stop doing stupid shit in big games and suddenly you're gonna look a lot tougher.

>Revenge is sweet , BUT the thought of possibly losing to
>Michigan twice in one year would send me into a dark place

look at it this way. either Day rights the ship and ends this season the way it should be ended or we move dramatically closer to his departure. no need to wait an entire fucking year for his litmus test game. its a win-win. like i said, this is a gift.
2777760, Lol @ anyone thinking bama was getting In

2777889, Unsurprisingly JSN opting out of the peach bowl
Posted by 3xKrazy, Mon Dec-05-22 03:01 PM
I always found the idea of expanded playoffs keeping star players from opting out to be pretty funny. I would expect opt outs to remain pretty commonplace going forward.

Sure would’ve been fun to watch teams try to defend Marv and JSN…oh well.
2777892, Agreed, this is gonna start happening a lot more

2777912, also heard there could be eligibility issues. who knows really.
Posted by 3xKrazy, Mon Dec-05-22 05:35 PM
bottom line is if his draft stock hadn't already been solidified i think this season wouldve played out differently for him.
2777913, there will be opt-outs, but less
Posted by will_5198, Mon Dec-05-22 05:40 PM
right now there is no reason for certain Tennessee, bama, Penn State, etc players not to opt out

a home playoff game changes that for them
