2777166, Jerry Jones on that Summer Jam Screen
Posted by Beamer6178, Sun Nov-27-22 10:49 PM
I need ZERO Black players saying shit about this in defense of him. There is no neutrality. He was out there during a pivotal moment in history. He either leans in or he pushes back. Based on how he's run his business, one would say he's leaned in. To be there as a teenager while kids are just trying to go to school yet to be insensitive to racial trauma over police shows NO LEARNING.

He's in no trouble whatsoever and will deal with no repercussions. This is just interesting noise.

At least we finally have one of the whites photographed in the racist black and white scenes be identified.

i don't watch the NFL, but i'll watch this fuckery
2777173, not defending him but I'd be surprised if any white man 65 yrs ago...
Posted by ThaTruth, Mon Nov-28-22 01:19 AM
in Arkansas wasn't involved in some racial shit its not like he was in a kkk uniform just a kid looking on if he was one of the guys in front actually confronting the kids I feel like it would be a lot more problematic
2777191, Pretty much
Posted by Cenario, Mon Nov-28-22 11:30 AM
2777204, This is my take
Posted by The Real, Mon Nov-28-22 12:35 PM
Not even in the south but any white person over 65 I assume they have some racist shit in their past.

2777234, That was basically my reaction as well when I saw the photo
Posted by calij81, Mon Nov-28-22 05:12 PM
That and how did the person connect that JJ is in that photo.
2777194, What would you suggest be done about it?..
Posted by CyrenYoung, Mon Nov-28-22 12:03 PM
..Jones literally stood on the wrong side of history.

His response to the photo and its current rounds in the media suggest that he didn't understand the ramifications of his actions then OR now. The Shield will never go against Jones. They have no grounds to sanction him in any way.

What say you?

2777211, I disagree

Based on his recent perception in regards to players kneeling and
Colin Kap, he is still that same man today. It wasn’t just a situation
of him being immature and not understanding the height of the matter.

Also, Jerry Jones has never hired a African American head coach, and now that we
know that he opposed racial integration, that isn’t coincidental.
2777214, probably NOT coincidental. still, Cyren's question stands.

like, what, the NFL gonna make him hire a black head coach?

if so, when?
2777218, What supposed to be done about it
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Mon Nov-28-22 01:52 PM
All we know for sure about this pic is that he was standing out there. All the rest of that is conjecture and assumptions until proven otherwise
2777276, you know damn well why he was out there

2777219, nothing can be, really

another reason why the media is so trash.

as someone else said, his football coach TOLD players to stay away (which actually reflects not too badly on the coach since he rathered them not be involved than to be part of the fuckery) because they knew something big was happening. the whole damn TOWN knew what was happening. he was fortunate enough to not be seen acting, but he didn't just drift there by happenstance.

guess the other plantation owners are checking their old portrait albums to see what they were pictured doing. you can almost guarantee Bob McNair, whether pictured or not, partook in similar activities.

I seriously just wish Black people would SHUT THE FUCK UP and let white people answer for their goddamned selves. For serious that is the strongest feeling this whole situation gives me.

2777256, and also, niggas ain't doing shit to him

Posted by legsdiamond, Mon Nov-28-22 12:38 PM
what did Jerry say about this?

Football coach warned him not to be there.. and he went anyways.

Said no one knew what was going on.. the fuck does that mean?
2777231, Shannon and Skilp quiet as FUCK about this

interesting...
2777362, The point people are missing
Posted by The Real, Tue Nov-29-22 07:51 PM
I hope people have taken the time to read this multi-part series on coaching in the Washington Post.

His statement about coaching speaks volumes about the coaching situation in the NFL more so than the photo. He basically said he believes if people want a coaching job they will "pull themselves up by their bootstraps" and go get it. You know, that tired conservative trope.

He later said he hires coaches that he knows and feels comfortable with, not understanding the irony on how his upbringing could shape his views of NOT being comfortable with a POC in a leadership position.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2777373, the # of Black people in every industry passed over on this....

white comfort is truly one of the most toxic elements in this periodic table we call a society.

2777394, especially in an industry where most men fail
Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Nov-30-22 10:09 AM
always drives me wild to hear people act like you need to have all these things liked up perfectly for a position where most will lose more games than they win.
2777401, we see that with Saturday getting a job while Bienemy gets ignored

Posted by khn, Fri Dec-02-22 06:46 PM
Bron is hardly perfect and the China thing is a blemish he gets to wear forever. But is his decision to talk about this - amidst a whole lot of deafening silence - really something you can't get behind?
2777556, RE: He should prob just shut up and dribble << no, but Kyrie should

2777557, 100%.

If Kyrie ever decides to stop with the relentless dumbfuckery, I'll be a happy man. I stanned hard in the Cleveland days. But that's likely not happening.

Still think it's a little goofy to find something negative in Bron using his platform & power to speak on this particular matter. Especially as it's otherwise getting swept under the rug asap.
2777553, I’d love to see more speaking out against China
Posted by Vex_id, Fri Dec-02-22 07:04 PM
But does he have to speak out about every issue around the globe in order for his statement on this issue to be valid?

If so that’s a standard nobody in the world can meet.
2777551, This is sad.
Posted by allStah, Fri Dec-02-22 05:50 PM
You’re in here on some Lebron stanboy crap, and not even acknowledging or speaking
on the jerry jones situation in itself.

This is a huge racial matter, and you’re talking about some -false- GOAT status of
a player.
2777554, Lol ok bruh

2777555, Why do NBA beat writers have to ask him about an NFL owner though?
Posted by guru0509, Fri Dec-02-22 07:12 PM
>https://youtu.be/ByDDC8JtTTc

if he wanted to speak on it, he should just speak on it. Acting all high and mighty and condescending towards these writers is corny, if it was Robert Sarver or Donald Sterling, they would have (and Im pretty sure they did) ask him about it. They dont cover the NFL or the cowboys, so I dont understand what he's so miffed about.

Kyrie is an idiot anyway, he should be distancing himself from that guy, not coming to his defense

2777558, you know why
Posted by legsdiamond, Fri Dec-02-22 08:41 PM
2777562, I think there's enough context there with LeBron specifically
Posted by Nodima, Fri Dec-02-22 09:02 PM
He was famously a frontrunning Cowboys fan like every other child of the '90s, and he also ghosted them after the Jerry stuff during the kneeling saga as he pointed out (somewhere else, though) when he started talking about this

I don't think the average beat writer would've thought to connect those dots but you'd think maybe ONE longtime follower of the guy would've thought about it. I get LeBron's thinking.

or any other of the dumb shit they ask athletes?

I love Bron for this, because these motherfuckers were out here trying to let shit walk like 60 years for a man who has moved as a plantation owner SINCE that incident is somehow "too long ago to judge."

Shannon started talking as soon as Bron did. Maybe he was waiting for him to say it to make his point that he told Skilpf.

Next week may be interesting.
