He is far from articulate, which is why I repeated his statement

He stated “ he took some umbrage to/with that” as if he were
taking a burger with a side of fries. It made zero sense. It’s akin
to saying “ He took some offense to that.”

It’s “he took umbrage to/with that”. He was trying way too hard to sound
articulate thus sounding inarticulate.

He thinks he is the smartest guy in the room, but he isn’t, then on top
of that he is very arrogant and spews horrible basketball takes.
I didn’t like him as player, and he is insufferable as a person.
