Official date is March 16th, but there’s moves happening.
2760126, Bears sending Khalil Mack to the Chargers…

Mack and Bosa? 😬

.
2760129, That seems like a good deal for both sides
Posted by calij81, Thu Mar-10-22 05:26 PM
If Bosa and Mack can stay healthy they might do some damage next season.
2760132, Most definitely, for the Chargers...
Posted by Dstl1, Thu Mar-10-22 07:31 PM
on the Bears' side...I guess I overvalued what Mack is, right today.
2760198, Chargers are also taking on the $63 million left on the contract
Posted by legsdiamond, Fri Mar-11-22 04:30 PM
at least I heard that on sports radio yesterday

cause sports radio in Charlotte was like wtf.. that’s what we gave up for Sam Darnold. lol
2760208, I believe I read that the Chargers were trying to rework Mack’s
Posted by calij81, Fri Mar-11-22 05:29 PM
contract but it does get the $63 million off the books for the Bears.
2760141, who will Brady come out of cryofreeze to sign for

2760147, If the Niners trade Jimmy G and start the season 1-3

He will be their starting QB for game 4.
2760213, Detroit.

then I will actually call him the GOAT.
2760195, Cowboys reached out to Bobby Wagner…I like that (c)

Posted by Dstl1, Fri Mar-11-22 04:57 PM
bye, Greg. Someone will bring him in cuz he’s Greg the Leg. I really liked Jarwin. He was a big body who could block in the run game and catch short stuff…that hip, though.

probably gonna be the Monday Night Football guys now.
2760216, Yah, everybody felt like…
Posted by Dstl1, Fri Mar-11-22 06:52 PM
once they threw Romo Money at Aikman…that was a rap for Buck. Most def, they probably blew out that othe MNF crew as soon as Aikman signed. I’m sure Lou Riddick will be popping up on shows and Griese went to be a QB coach.
2760260, Amari Cooper to Cleveland...

I figured he was going to return to tampa, due to Jensen definitely leaving. I knew they weren't going to be able to keep both.

Obviously Brady returning changed things for Jensen.

I think Cappa is gonna do well for Burrow.
2760563, Saw this coming...

2760385, Man.. I hope this means we are also going after a QB in this draft
Posted by legsdiamond, Mon Mar-14-22 12:21 PM
and Mason is sent packing.

I know he is mad af but he was trash.

Not sold on Trubisky but he should be a decent bridge QB until we find our next franchise QB.

2760396, Mitch is gonna be the bridge and a better one than Mason
Posted by blueeclipse, Mon Mar-14-22 02:33 PM
The Steelers are still going to draft a QB either this year or next year. And Rudolph can kick rocks either way. That dude had his chance and he's CLEARLY not starter material. That Lions game last season sealed his fate.
2760417, Yeah. This is a smart move actually.
Posted by Sofian_Hadi, Mon Mar-14-22 05:15 PM
Mitch isnt the greatest but he was better than most people remember. He's a perfect bridge QB. There's no way you could let Rudolph go out there and be your starter.
2760401, You talked all that shit to me about Trubisky.
Posted by allStah, Mon Mar-14-22 02:45 PM
Now he is your QB, and If he balls out?

You would have to watch that L every Sunday.
2760402, NOPE.
Posted by blueeclipse, Mon Mar-14-22 03:06 PM
The argument was about whether the Bears should have traded up to get him OVER Mahomes and Watson. They identified him as the best QB in that draft.

You keep trying to justify that move.

If he balls out. Great. We got him for some change compared to that. I doubt he is ever as good as Mahomes or Watson though.

I also pray for Fields too. The Bears are a bermuda triangle when it comes to QB's.
2760498, dudes brain is wired all types of wrong

Type of dude to buy high and sell low and laugh at you for buying it.

2760542, Yeah.
Posted by allStah, Wed Mar-16-22 02:48 AM
Especially when you already know some stuff is trash...BUT YOU STILL BUY IT,
even after you called it trash yourself.

I used to see fools like you all the time while working in the stock market...

“I’m going to get in even lower!” ( knowing that the stock is volatile.....and the stock
continues to plummet).

You pulled that phrase out on the wrong person.
2760621, Breh.. we are paying him $7 mill. Glorified backup money
Posted by legsdiamond, Thu Mar-17-22 05:42 AM
2760495, wtf? we got him for $7 mill a season and gave up nothing
Posted by legsdiamond, Tue Mar-15-22 12:56 PM
If he balls out YOU are taking the L every week.

Bears bought high and sold low.. lmao

2760541, He was with the Bears on a rookie deal.
Posted by allStah, Wed Mar-16-22 02:34 AM
He played for the bears for 4 seasons, and the bears made 2 PO appearances,
and Mitch went to the pro bowl. That’s 2 good seasons and 2 bad seasons.
I would say his time in Chicago was middle of the road. He was 29-21 as the
Bears’ starting QB. It’s not great, but it isn’t terrible either.

You trashed Mitch almost every week when he was with the Bears, and now
he is your QB. You’re paying for a so called trash player.

There’s a difference.

Bears drafted him based on his college play, scouting, and talent. He was
seen as a top draft prospect.....

NOW, Mitch is labeled a trash QB, and your team still went out and got him.....

That’s like a guy marrying a girl, and then dumps her when he finds out that
she’s a tramp. But then another guy comes along and marries her, even though
he already knows that she is a tramp or no good.

2760581, You gave up 3 draft picks and paid $29 mill..

based off 1 season of football at UNC. You got got fam

bruh, when you decline a 5th year option for the number 2 pick after trading up 1 spot to get him and give up 3 picks… that isn’t middle of the road. Based on what you gave up and where he was drafted that is a bust.

>You trashed Mitch almost every week when he was with the
>Bears, and now

>There’s a difference.

almost every week? lmao.. Bears fans didnt even care that much to watch Mitch every week nigga.

>Bears drafted him based on his college play, scouting, and
>talent. He was
>seen as a top draft prospect.....

again, you got got. Not sure why you keep saying this like its a positive. He played one year and you guys were dumb enough to think he was better than Watson. One year and you gave up picks and 30 mill. Shit is embarrassing, why keep mentioning this?

>NOW, Mitch is labeled a trash QB, and your team still went out
>and got him.....

yep.. for the low low.. 7 mill a year is peanuts for a QB. If he works out we got a steal, if he doesn’t.. we aren’t handcuffed and again, we gave up nothing.

>That’s like a guy marrying a girl, and then dumps her when
>he finds out that

That’s a terrible analogy that makes no damn sense. Here is a better one.

You dated a girl and took her to a 5 star restaurant and she ordered from the fucking side of the menu. Oh, and you also got rid of 3 of your future side hoes too. Paid $500 for the date.. but at least you hit right? Right?

Me? I took that broad to a bodega and split a $5 sub with her and hit the same night…,AND she knows I got side hoes and she cool with it cause she knows this is temporary unless she gives that head right e’er night!!!

Posted by legsdiamond, Tue Mar-15-22 02:06 PM
while I do as well I wouldn’t be surprised if Trubisky reminds everyone why he was available for $7 mill per year.

I’m hoping Haskins gets a fair shot and blows both these dudes out the water… or we get Willis in the draft.

People hate Mason so much they really out here acting like Trubisky is Josh Allen just cause he had on the same uniform.

There’s 32 of these qb gigs. When you pick a guy first then move around a bunch of stuff to appease him, he’s probably going to think it’s never going to end. And then, stuff leaks about your team trying to lurk around to replace you, maybe you find out about it in uncool ways, and here we are.

Baker isn’t great but he’s not crazy wrong to be like ‘hey yo’ if they’re trying to move off of him without telling him beforehand. Seems really Clevelandy.

And now he’s sitting around hoping to go to the colts. Yikes.
2760551, don't disagree with you...

2760565, This is all PR bs...
Posted by CyrenYoung, Wed Mar-16-22 12:25 PM
..He's playing the public sympathy card (smart).

He did a very good job of making himself the face of Cleveland (esp since Bron left). I know for a fact that he's known about the Browns' intentions (even with recent developments). Anyone following the game know's he's not trending toward the potential expected of someone drafted #1 overall.

Yes, he's dealt with playing for four different head coaches, injuries, etc. That org clearly isn't much different than most in that they'll definitely play the PR game and say whatever it takes to pacify fans/the media (good or bad).

Its not a good fit and certainly not the investment Cleveland really wants to make moving forward, but they're not about to sever ties without making a significant upgrade. Either way, Baker's draft position ensures that his pockets/position in the league are straight.

Haha! Sonnets! Dipped in ink! I love it. I see it now..it’s funny. I thank you for this!

And yeah, some of the hate was brought on by him acting like he was amazing when it was kinda clear he had warts. For me, I’m kinda in the same place on him as I was before..he’s aight and can be good when things around him are unrealistically stable. Any issues of note? 2760558, Breshad Perriman returns to the Bucs on 1-year deal
Posted by Marbles, Wed Mar-16-22 10:44 AM

https://www.tampabay.com/sports/bucs/2022/03/16/bucs-lining-up-targets-for-tom-brady-as-breshad-perriman-returns-on-1-year-deal/

TAMPA — Breshad Perriman may not need to leave a forwarding address this season. Having played for the Browns, Bucs, Jets and Lions over the past four seasons, the former UCF receiver will stay put in Tampa Bay after signing a one-year contract.

Perriman rejoined the Bucs late last season after injuries riddled the receiving corps. He wound up playing so well that he supplanted Tyler Johnson as the No. 4 receiver.

At 6-foot-2, 215 pounds, Perriman possesses the size to go with great speed that the Bucs covet in Bruce Arians’ offense. He made an immediate impact when he produced a walkoff, 58-yard touchdown reception in overtime to beat the Bills.

Big-play moments are what Perriman’s career has been known for, and the biggest ones have occurred with the Bucs.

In 2019, with receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin injured, Perriman became the Bucs’ primary receiver. He enjoyed a strong of three consecutive 100-yard games while scoring four touchdowns over that span. He finished that season with 36 catches for 645 yards and six touchdowns.

The Bucs have been focused on securing targets for Tom Brady, who announced he would return for his 23rd season on Sunday.

Godwin received the team’s franchise player tag. On Tuesday, the Bucs signed Falcons receiver Russell Gage to a three-year, $30 million contract. Even if Godwin isn’t fully recovered from a torn ACL/MCL by the start of the 2022 season, the Bucs have Gage and now Perriman to give Brady some options.

It should be an interesting training camp with players such as Johnson, Scotty Miller, Jaelon Darden and Cyril Grayson competing for the No. 4 receiver spot.

And the Bucs may not be done. They could target a receiver early in the NFL draft.

This story will be updated.

I'm guessing if he's even kinda sorta healthy he gets another shot as some team's 2nd or maybe even 3rd wr? Right? He's still big AF and could be an annoying cover for a 3rd corner, right?

I'm glad the teams who would normally jump all over this are probably too broke. I'm looking right at Dallas. I just hope the Ravens don't saddle Lamar with a 1-foot Julio. Sammy Watkins is already there.

C'mon Cleveland! This is the stuff you let leak AFTER you've traded the guy!

And hey, it ain't his fault they picked him first when he was clearly kinda little and almost obviously not that athletic along with a history of getting in trouble. The video of him getting chased down by the cop is especially cute, absurd, and hilarious. And still! First!? C'mon now.

And as its already been said here: he's gonna get at least one more other shot somewhere. If its indoors and he's healthy, he could easily be decent. We live in a world where a bunch of folks who aren't exactly great at QB get some shots at the role. Fitzpatrick for instance.

Take Atlanta for example. Ryan is toast in ATL. We all know it. They have no business showing up another year with him as their dude. But you can guarantee they aren't gonna get caught saying something like this before Ryan is gone: 'we've blown multiple drafts and paid wild money trying to get players to put around Matt Ryan. And he's had some good stat years but we still have no raings to show for it. And really, we haven't been close except that one time. So screw this dude. And he's old and expensive now? Yeah, we out out. We got out of Julio first. Now we out on Matt.'.

When you consider the roster/talent, the fan base, etc, Cleveland has everything Watson could ever want in a young team. *Granted, the verdict is still out on Stefanski, but Deshaun has clearly dealt with worse.

New Orleans makes it interesting 'cause it's 'Nawlins. Similar coaching scenario, but at least Allen has a ring to show for it.

I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Colton Miller is the only real strong point.
Trading away Rodney Hudson and Gabe Jackson before last season was ridiculous.
Before that they wasted a bunch of $ on Trent Brown who was an absolute monster in the 2 or so games where he wasnt limping off the field, or just out. They kept paying psycho Richie Incognito who spent the last 2 years injured.
Leatherwood has been a bust, and his most notable skill is false starts in crrucial moments. Colton Miller was trash his rookie season too, so im still hoping Leatherwood comes around

I can’t think of any receiver in the history of the game who has done more
with less than Robinson during his college career and pro career.

All decade big ten receiver, and none of the QBs he played with are in the NFL.

He had multiple seasons of 1000+ receiving with Bortles, Trubisky and Foles as
his QB.

OBJ and Woods will be out next season rehabbing..... so Cupp and Robinson will
be the number 1/2 receivers.

The latest version of the story here might be even more damning. Maybe? Allegedly, Green Bay offered comparable if not more money to keep Adams and he still took the option to leave and go to Vegas. If THAT'S true....YIKES, right?

Adams leaving had nothing to do with Rodgers contract and likely nothing to do with Rodgers personality.

Adams didn't like that he didn't get a deal last year, and he also would rather be out west than in fucking Green Bay.

Watson, a Black QB, with immense baggage just got THE bag to play for the Cleveland Browns.

Granted, the best Browns team assembled since reinstatement.

But the pressure. Bruh.

On top of this: His base salary this season is $1 million.
He's being paid a $45M signing bonus.

So if he gets suspended, he loses maybe half of that $1M.

The Browns cap hit I think is somewhere like 10M for him (1M base plus a fraction of that signing bonus).

Got the bag AND insured against impending suspension.

2760876, i'm kinda surprised no one's looking at Mariotta
Posted by Mynoriti, Sat Mar-19-22 04:14 PM
or at least it seems that way.

I'd love to keep him on the Raiders as an insurance policy to Carr, but Jacobs just changed his # to 8 so it's probably unlikely.

either way, he's only 28, i think he's worthy of another shot somewhere.
2760880, I think he should too.
Posted by Dr Claw, Sat Mar-19-22 04:37 PM
I thought it was weird that he was the "Taysom Hill" of the Raiders, when he could have easily been where Drew Lock was.
2760881, I'd rather have him as a bridge over a lot of these guys
Posted by will_5198, Sat Mar-19-22 04:38 PM
funny, because the guy he lost his job to in Tennessee was considered damaged goods at 30 years old
2760879, Brissett on 1-year deal to Cleveland.
Posted by Dr Claw, Sat Mar-19-22 04:36 PM
Following the trade of Case Keenum to the Bills for a 7th Rounder

A Black backup QB to the confirmed Black starter, for a team that has curiously enough avoided the latter for the longest.

Brissett is good, and I've enjoyed his play since leaving the Cheatriots.

Good signing.
2760893, They had Sourgon Wynn for a hot minute lol…

(another guy, like Watson, should have been drafted by the Browns. Would have been different story for his career if he did)

but to drop the bag on a dude? Never happened until now. We are truly in new times.

(as I type, the Giants actually signed Tyrod to be the backup. He might be the GOAT Black backup; I credit him for being part of the Bills turnaround story until they got Josh)

I am kind of surprised it only took 3rd rounded to get him. I am surprised they didn’t a little more for him. At least a conditional pick that could move up to a 2nd.
2761048, decent.
Posted by will_5198, Mon Mar-21-22 11:47 PM
Colts had the cap space to make a move and while he's in a big decline, he has the chance to make the "simple" plays that Wentz refused to

Ballard still has to get him a LT and another receiver, though -- two things he's not very good at acquiring

the real victories though: Indy avoids the Baker Mayfield ego train and putting on beer googles for this QB draft class

I wouldn't wish the circus on Detroit (or Seattle)
but at least in Seattle it's so far away from the BS, and it's essentially an expiring deal, if they suck... the Hawks can move on if they'd like.

there's such an internal war in Raider nation over Carr. I swear every time Carr threw a bad pass or even a good one gets dropped, Mairota would start trending. I can already see the whining if Marcus has a better season lol.

That said, i do hope he thrives
2761050, Baker legitimately might not have a spot next year.
Posted by Sofian_Hadi, Tue Mar-22-22 07:06 AM
That is a wild fall from grace. I dont see a landing spot for him anywhere, as i assume he will refuse to be a back-up quarterback. Atlanta choosing Mariota and the Saints going with crab legs may have been the death knell. Seahawks seem committed to Drew Locke and drafting a QB. Steelers with Mitch. Colts got their guy. Yikes.
2761073, his cost this season is the problem.
Posted by Dr Claw, Tue Mar-22-22 11:54 AM
a team will have to forfeit $18 this season on a contract that's expiring.

with the latest QB signings, Baker's market has officially dropped him to Dildo Baggins status.

2761075, He may have actually hurt his career by not sitting last year.

2761115, I still feel like Seattle will scoop him up
Posted by will_5198, Tue Mar-22-22 11:43 PM
there's no huge need to trade for him -- nobody else wants to spend draft capital to acquire him, and the Browns can't keep him on the roster for $18 million next season.

seems like the kind of "fall from grace underdog vengeance story" that Carroll loves. and if it doesn't work out, Seattle is on the rebuild anyway.

Posted by mrhood75, Tue Mar-22-22 12:09 PM
They restructured Kittle and Armistead's deals last week so they wouldn't have to make the decision immediately, but that's the direction seems to be headed. I think all the potential trade destinations have dried up. And they're not keeping his contract on the books this season when they have to extend Deebo and Bosa. Wish we could have gotten something for him, but oh well.

(Even though it would be).

Reports say the Niners have made offers but he's refused due to how he is used. His career will be cut a lot shorter if they keep running him the way they do. Maybe this is a sign he wasnt a big supporter of that kind of play calling. They run him that way because of a garbage turnover prone RB. Probably doesn't see Trey Lance as much of a difference.

And they got roughly one good season out it so it’s hard to say it totally nombre by Cleveland standards. But of course they completely bungle the dismount. And they made him look horrible while he was still with the team..impressively silly work there.
