But that makes sense, since you're arguing with your imagination here, not me.

>w/ the Lakers trading its young core to bring in AD.

This is far more nuanced that that.

I've said countless times, that you take that deal for those kids.
That it's not my preferred building method doesn't change that.

So, I had both sentimental attachment to the guys we drafted and went through those down times with, and a rational understanding of what was the obvious move.

In order for you to have a valid point here, you have to strip away all that nuance.

You literally have to create your own version of my stance for most of this to look like a valid argument, because you're not really arguing against my perspective. Hell, half of your "points" are things I've already said myself.

Moreover, my biggest issue, far and away, by far, was always about the way the deal was structured, .

>yet, ultimately that led to a championship and put an end to
>an historic Laker playoff drought in what was the Lakers worst
>half-decade of basketball in its franchise history.

...and I've said multiple times that you still make the trade for AD.

Shit, I called it a net win TODAY:

So you're literally telling me things I've already said myself.

>Despite that paradigm shift and 'chip - you've been
>denigrating this team from the jump.

I've denigrated the structure of the deal itself.

Do you really not understand the difference there?

>Had the front office been more competent - this team could be
>very different.

Still telling me the things I've already said.

The reason the Lakers are in this position
>right now is not solely on AD's lack of availability or
>LeBron's age

Can you show me where I've made this argument?

Because I've said this team is broken in general.

Do you really not grasp the nuanced difference between acknowledging the serious problems with AD and saying that the problem is solely AD?

And please, show me one post where I cite Lebron's age as a problem.

Again, you're arguing with your imagination. Not with me.

I dunno, maybe you should create an alias to argue with.

>(LeBron is playing fabulous basketball once again
>this season)

You say this as though I've argued otherwise.

>it's because of a flurry of free agency
>activity that simply hasn't panned out.

Do you want to know a huge reason why that is?

The structure of the AD deal took all our picks.

And much as Frank thinks I overvalue picks- I don't- but they are a critical currency in today's NBA trading climate.

And we don't have them. Which makes it that much harder to structure deals, particularly when you don't have players people want.

>You seem to think that if the Lakers just ship out LeBron & AD
>that they'll be back on track.

I LITERALLY said to start a rebuild.

*you* said back on track.

Once again, you have to strip my actual words away, and replace them with your own, to make your point.

>Back on track to what exactly?

Good question. Ask your straw man, see what he says, because I certainly didn't say that, nor imply it.

So, get at me when you can actually respond to the things I'm actually saying. Until then, kick rocks.
