his game was always predicated on being able to out-athlete everybody else on the court, but now that that's waning he has no idea how to play any other way. So he's totally out of sorts, rhythm is off, trying to overcompensate, confidence must be shot despite maintaining his trademark scowling public bravado. Whole game is just off-balance in general, resulting in WTF shit like that shot put heave off the top edge of the backboard.
