I mean, you know the internet sleuths are going to be combing through his last hundreds of games. Maybe he's got a history of distasteful jokes that he's been secretly dropping throughout the years, and with this one, he just flew too close to the sun.

Or maybe he just thought Kevin Porter Jr. was Kevin Porter's kid, got too cute with his play call, and royally fucked up as a result.

I obviously think the latter is far more likely (and thought that was the case before I even saw the apology), but that's just me.
