I’m guessing he’s cool with it. I dig his work. Buuuuut, he has never been in great shape, WWE rolled with him when he got hurt, and he’s allegedly well-liked backstage. And they probably gave him a good ass ‘don’t go to aew/we will make you a trainer in 3 years’ deal this last time.

Some of these dudes probably feel like they’ve already done the ‘for the love’ wrestling matches they wanted to do. Him and Sami have killed themselves in front of 1000 folks a bunch of times already. They’ve already helped make NXT BG awesome and then sparked whatever led to AEW. They might feel like AEW doesn’t really need them. And now that Danielson and Punk are there, maybe they’re right..especially if they aren’t dying to work long and physically demanding epic matches anymore. So they’re out there on that Jim Duggan/JYD/Ted DiBiase after midsouth shit.
