Fired too soon. The Falcons had some more success following his time there but he really should have been kept along to help Vick really turn that franchise into Madden 04.

Giants have our first pick.
Ryan Pace needs to be out the door right behind Nagy.
Allstah swore this team would be great and that Pace was a good GM. Wherefore art thou, allstah?

the headline of the Jets-Bucs game.
LOL @ AB. Mike Tomlin, actual GOAT, looks like a million bucks. I hope AB never comes back to play on that team (or any team) ever again.
Meanwhile the Eagles actually KICKED the field goal on 4th down, and left it to the defense to handle the remainder of the clock. Game ends on a McCleod pick.
Falcons getting BUFFALO'D, which is good, because NE got essentially a bye week.
Rams take it by 1, which is also good.
I think Cincinnati might mess around and win this division now
|
2754161, Saleh should slap himself… Posted by Dstl1, Sun Jan-02-22 04:13 PM
up by 4, inside the 10 yard line. You can kick the FG and Tampa would need a score and a 2 point conversion to win. Nope. Get stuffed, going for it on 4th and 2…then your defense gets smooth worked, down the field with Brady throwing to a Door Dash driver.
|
2754167, Buffalo needed the refs help to beat the Falcons Posted by Ray_Snill, Sun Jan-02-22 04:21 PM
>Falcons getting BUFFALO'D, which is good, because NE got >essentially a bye week.
Allen missed Diggs on 3rd down and there was incidental contact so they get a fresh set of downs
-Matt gets leg swept by a defender, ruled a sack -got hit in the head by a defender, no call -slides in for a TD, which by rule he isn't down until he gets touched but ok they said he gave himself up so he's down where his knee hit on the 1 foot line, but he was blasted by the defender so there should have been a late hit called but no they hit Matt with a taunting call and back us up 15 yards all while ignoring maybe was jawing with dude cause he just BLASTED him. -Allen gets a love tap by a defender, as he was throwing the ball, roughing called. Buffalo gonna get the butts handed to them come playoffs

taunting rules gotta go. there's no clear rules on what "taunting" actually is, and the concept of a "taunt" makes no sense if Matt was on the losing end of a play.

Simple answer is, his CTE/mental issues had not progressed to the where they are now, or have been the last few years.

|
2754174, Antonio Brown needs medical assistance. It’s clear as day. Posted by allStah, Sun Jan-02-22 04:40 PM
He has extreme mental issues, and should never play football again.
He was clearly having a mental episode, and he is going to get demonized by the media and everyone else. But he needs serious, serious medical attention.
Could it be CTE? That’s a huge possibility, and continue to play football will just make the situation worse.
I do not want to see this guy found dead or shot somewhere on the side of the road. I just hope someone in his camp comes in an gets him the treatment that he needs, because he isn’t going to be able to do it himself.
|
2754181, Real talk. Posted by Dr Claw, Sun Jan-02-22 04:44 PM
I think there stands a chance of him getting this treatment publicly, just because it's Boody's Team affected.
I hope he actually has a support system around him.
|
2754184, maybe on social media but the TV media is going to light his ass up Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Sun Jan-02-22 04:49 PM
all the talking head shows gave Arians a ton of shit for giving AB another chance after the vaxx card shit. Undisputed keeps bringing up that its technically a felony and they should press charges. they are about to fire him up
then they'll act all sad when something happens off the field to him, as it seems like that might be where its headed.
|
2754187, heard AB was upset he was benched so he couldn’t reach his incentives Posted by legsdiamond, Sun Jan-02-22 04:57 PM

it won’t matter.. lol. They are still going to light him up in the press.
but I remember a story saying he had the last 3 games to reach another million in incentives.

i mean i wouldnt put it past a team to pull that stunt if the have nothing at stake. but not a team trying to get the #1 seed and home field. and especially not Brady's Bucs. he aint going for that.
|
2754192, I agree with you and TB was losing at the time so why would they bench Posted by calij81, Sun Jan-02-22 05:21 PM
AB when trying to come back and fighting for that 1 seed just to maybe save $1 million dollars. This isn’t the last game of the season.
|
2754197, multiple reports said he was benched prior to the meltdown Posted by legsdiamond, Sun Jan-02-22 06:07 PM

I’m going to assume this didn’t really happen. It’s not unbelievable. And it HAS happened before. But I don’t want to believe it just yet. It sucks regardless. I wanted dude to stay his ass on the field and be useful again to help add to a decent end to his grand career.

2754238, more AB context? AB had doubts about his own health Posted by Dr Claw, Mon Jan-03-22 10:09 AM
per this report from Rapaport (i.e. the NFL's own media):
- AB did not practice prior to the Jets game, didn't think he was healthy enough - AB was told if he didn't go in when he was told to go in, he would be cut - AB refused to go into the game and was dismissed by the team from the sidelines - AB did what he did and left the team right then and there.
If true, the Bucs look like some assholes. It was the damn Jets, AB could have sat one more week if needed. Boody won with his Luck anyway.

|
2754246, He had 10 catches for 100 yards, last Sunday… Posted by Dstl1, Mon Jan-03-22 11:27 AM

|
2754249, Reports now saying he was mad Gronk was getting more targets Posted by Sofian_Hadi, Mon Jan-03-22 12:20 PM
And he even said something to Brady on the sidelines about it, Brady walked away in disgust per Skip Bayless. Then threw a tantrum and refused to go back in, then used an injury as an excuse.
|
2754251, they actually showed the exchange between him and Brady… Posted by Dstl1, Mon Jan-03-22 12:35 PM
on Get Up (obviously no sound), but it didn’t look like a pleasant convo.
|
2754256, This story is shifting and all over the place Posted by calij81, Mon Jan-03-22 01:02 PM
1. TB was shutting AB down so he doesn’t hit contract incentives.
2. AB didn’t want to go in and play because of health concerns.
3. AB was mad because he wasn’t getting enough targets.
Of those three, I think number 3 is most likely.
|
2754261, Yeah. Brady goes with the best matchup. Gronk was it yesterday. Posted by Sofian_Hadi, Mon Jan-03-22 01:56 PM
I've seen games where Mike Evans barely gets a look. Yesterday Gronk was the best matchup, and got the most targets. Just like the game winning drive Evans and Gronk didnt get a single pass, because the defense switched and left Johnson and Cyril one on one.
Most believable is that AB was pissed he wasn't getting enough throws his way and threw a tantrum. Refused to go back in when asked, Arians told him to get the fuck out then.
|
2754255, This seems like something his agent would say and put out there as Posted by calij81, Mon Jan-03-22 12:59 PM
Damage control. His agent and camp have to know that Sunday was more than likely the end of his career so they are trying to deflect some of it in the hopes that some team might take another chance on AB.
|
2754258, I just can’t buy the injury thing… Posted by Dstl1, Mon Jan-03-22 01:09 PM

2754291, Hot Take: Browns and Texans need to work it out Posted by Dr Claw, Mon Jan-03-22 11:52 PM
and take care of each other's headaches.
Browns will immediately be back in playoff picture provided Q-Aaron doesn't take his talents to the Steelers. If so, say hello to Steeler ring No. 7.
Baker should have got the surgery and shut it down. Now he's pretty much played himself out of a contract re-up, and possibly might be off the Browns in a minute.
I mean, look at the out going Steeler QB. Watson is light work in comparison.

2754301, Interesting that CTE isn't being discussed IRT AB Posted by bentagain, Tue Jan-04-22 09:00 AM
Journalism has no integrity There are a few different contexts that could be explored...outside of AB cray cray I find it strange that CTE is never discussed when NFL players have off the field/behavioral/criminal issues for example, a fake vaxx card is a felony...but the NFL protected AB in that instance by not releasing details There's also the AHern context, where Brady benefits from what appears to be a HOF talent in a spiral to the bottom off the field It's f'n weird IMO...to post a timeline of AB's transgressions...and not start with the Burfect hit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8iFSP_S5h8 2016...things started going off the rails in 2018...?

I’ll start zoomed out. Casually flinging hate on wrs, rbs, and corners is just typical nfl ‘fan’ behavior. The truth is immaterial. The goal is just to hate those guys, blame a whole franchise’s issues on them, and ignore it as much as possible when the teams are hilariously putrid after the alleged ‘problem child’ is gone. Look at the Giants post-OBJ for instance. They’re terrible and I don’t hear much about them in the south. Before? I kept hearing the local meatheads around me and a bit of my corner of the Twitta constantly going on and on about how brutal OBJ was for the Giants. How could they win with him!? Oh no. Aka let’s go Rams.
Zooming in to AB, not nearly enough people ‘care about’ that dude. He’s just stats for fantasy football until he’s not and a vessel to absorb hate from the meatheads who semi-secretly wish they could trade places with any of these players who have had decent careers and/or earnings. I was concerned about Brown when he was basically the best wr in the league and Pittsburgh wasn’t even trying to fix his contract. Mike Wallace was in Miami and then Sanders was in Denver. And Brown still caught hell getting his money up. That was when my disdain for Large Ben ramped up and I never really got over it. Now that he’s fat, old, and obviously reduced/terrible, he’s low hanging fruit. But I was down on him even when all people could talk about was ‘2 super bowls’.
And of course, these big media groups don’t want to reopen any discussions about how dangerous the NFL is and how many dudes leave the game with all sorts of mental issues. They’re leaning on anything intervening with the sound of their money machines.

Now that he’s fat, old, and obviously >reduced/terrible, he’s low hanging fruit. But I was down on >him even when all people could talk about was ‘2 super >bowls’. > >And of course, these big media groups don’t want to reopen >any discussions about how dangerous the NFL is and how many >dudes leave the game with all sorts of mental issues. >They’re leaning on anything intervening with the sound of >their money machines.
and to add on: another reason why AB was protected on the vax matter was because of where he was playing. As long as AB was there to assist Boody, the golden goose, nothing was happening. now that AB has acted in a way that the NFL deems unacceptable, you see how things shift.

2754305, It may be CTE or AB just might be an asshole.... Posted by blueeclipse, Tue Jan-04-22 10:56 AM
Both are entirely possible and both are possible at the same time. AB has ALWAYS been a narcissist. This is the same conversation that people have about Kanye when they defend that asshole. He's a narcissist. These are all CLASSIC narcissistic behaviors. AB's issues go back way further than the Burfict hit. He was peacocking in that Steelers locker room long before that and disrespecting people left and right. Bottom line is he's gotta be held accountable for his actions either way. Make all the excuses you want but he's a grown ass man and CTE or not hopefully he gets help and isn't coddled or enabled to continue to act like a child.

2754366, Reasons =/= excuses Posted by bentagain, Wed Jan-05-22 07:34 AM
I'm not excusing his behavior I'm trying to have a conversation about it Pretty easy to observe a dramatic change in his behavior after 2016 Did you try to equate sexual assault with peacocking? I think you're doing too much The Nino Brown haircut is peacocking He's escalated to criminal behavior Those aren't the same I think it's ignorant to not mention CTE when discussing these incidents Do you disagree? IRT Kanye, same thing His behavior escalated after his mom died Not an excuse. A reason People seem too comfortable dismissing it as...that boy crazy We could have a discussion on the how and why as well...
