The owners and GM's will trade players in a heartbeat without thinking about their legacy or whatever - IE Blake Griffin after signing a new deal.

It's not as if the superteams win every year either - we just saw Milwaukee do it with a homegrown team (but of course, they needed some trade help - certainly would not call them a superteam by any means). The point is - this whole narrative of "you cant beat them join em" ONLY goes back to KD, and he's had huge success before and now after the 3 years at GSW. It doesn't diminish his legacy whatsoever. He was a huge piece of perhaps the best team we've ever seen.
