I'm mad at my pass rush after that play
2751522, Dallas missing their key players is obviously a problem
Posted by Dr Claw, Fri Nov-26-21 06:43 AM
that dude going off the line TWICE on the final FG against the Raiders, SMH. Essentially jobbing the game in OT because of DPI, SMH.

Dak looked like some poo-poo on the layup throws but was hitting the tough throws. The score that lead to the game being tied late was an example.

I never thought it could be possible, but this is something the Eagles could capitalize on now that they're beginning to play NFC East teams. Wild thing is that WFT is the team I'm not looking forward to them playing. Heinecke was actually jobbed out of a win against Boody in the playoffs last season.

The Aints are fucking themselves out of future success -- this season might be a wash without Jameis, clearly the superior talent at QB. However, I read a report that they're paying Taysom Hill a HUGE amount of money to be the Marcus Mariota of the team. WTF.

Good to see the Bills BUFFALOING opponents on national TV though, I need them to kill this resurgence of the Cheatriots. The O-Line is suspect (and we've seen that in a couple of moments this year: the end of the Titans game, Buffalo blowing a timeout on 4th and inches because the threat of turning over on downs was there).

Andy Dalton makes more impressive throws than Boody.
2751523, hope Swift gets healthy soon

cool moments like seeing Jonathan Taylor talking to Marshawn Lynch in the tunnel before the Buffalo game ("Do your shit today. Do *all* your shit (c) Lynch to JT).

what Miami did to Tua the last year with all the Watson stuff makes me mad. Tua is the REAL DEAL.

of course I really hate how the refs NEED to bail out Boody.

If you think I'm just hating, those motherfuckers threw a flag (and picked it up after) when the Colts defender TIPPED a ball into incompletion in the end zone.

It was RIGHT after the incompletion.

If they're gonna call "automatic" pass interference for jersey grabbing on uncatchable balls, then they need to wind back to the Cowboys game and give Dallas the W.

I didn't know that it would count as a sack if a position player was tackled behind the line of scrimmage on a trick play where they become the passer. ESPN.com has the Jarvis Landry strip fumble down as a sack.

2751857, Lamar looked terrible. Sickness, missed game and practice time showed.

8-3. I’ll take it with this injury filled roster on both sides of the ball that we’re playing with.

Not saying he's terrible or anything but is there a worse player who has had a sustained national advertising campaign?
2751848, Damn. That's a good question. Tim Tebow, maybe?
Posted by Sofian_Hadi, Sun Nov-28-21 10:26 PM
Though I'm not sure if he had an commercials during his first flop in the NFL.
2751851, the Browns defense is not good.
Posted by Dr Claw, Mon Nov-29-21 12:04 AM
Or at best, not COACHED to be good.

What you saw is Baltimore is much more mediocre than their record indicates.

The Browns are just horrible on offense when you take away the run. Which points all fingers at Baker.

I've been a defender of his, but if he is going to bullshit like this, they need to holla at Russell Wilson or Deshaun Watson (two QBs that should have been Browns in the first place). No bullshit. Fuck the controversy.
2751876, Russell Wilson on the Browns would be a FUN watch.
Posted by Sofian_Hadi, Mon Nov-29-21 09:18 AM
Probably a better fit than the current version of the Seahawks.

>The guy you know will never be anything more than what you've

I don't love him or anything. And he might still be pretty shaky even if he was right. He's walking around like Fred G Sandford (and the G stands for Gimpy). AKA he's obviously playing hurt when he was never physically special anyway. And who is he throwing to?

IJS: if folks are going to cop pleas for Stafford's entire career by giving him the 'well, Detroit just sucks' pass with a bonus of 'I mean, he's been hurt! And he's hurt now!' at the ready anytime he plays like shit, then maybe Bayka deserves a little of that too even if he has a bunch of commercials now until he gets a real NFL contract. And besides, it makes sense that people didn't know how to act with Cleveland being interesting so of course the young QB who wasn't above cracking a few jokes was gonna get a lot of coverage.

I remember that few years after the Saints won that SB..Brees was EVERYWHERE. Then the hate came, the bounty stuff came out (while other teams who also had bounties laughed their asses off and moved/deleted all of their spreadsheets). Then, he threw for a bunch of yards, played hurt a shit ton, never made another SB, and his name didn't come up much again nationally until he said some silly shit about flags. Now he's got more hair on TV, the Saints are obviously worse, and other short QBs are catching hell trying to fill his shoes.

Maaaan, I'm concerned that he's not 'all natural' in addition to all of this. 10 games in 2 seasons. And if we're being for real, he's left a gang of those games limpin.

Really tho, RBs BE getting hurt. Short ones, tall ones, big ones, small ones. And if your insurance game is right, it basically makes no sense to keep playing when you're big hurt at RB. Your yards per carry might go down too much for the spreadsheet/stat slaves and then the story from these folks will be that you suck whether you do or not. Or if the talking heads can show a highlight package of 'one man bringing you down' too often or whatever..you're on your way to being toast.

I keep bringing up Melvin Gordon in this convo. He got thrown away. He failed to hold out and get paid. He ended up having to play a few games in a bad spot then leave the Chargers. And try as they may, the Chargers STILL haven't replaced him. And I like me some Ekeler but its not the same type of deal. They have to throw and/or do cute stuff in short yardage situations way too often. And it helps keep them in this abyss of losing close games. I'm assuming it can't still be Anthony Lynn's fault now that he's elsewhere.

Oddly enough, it looks like Green Bay has it right with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon together.
2751971, its still crazy to me that before COVID Tayler Heinicke was supposed...
Posted by ThaTruth, Tue Nov-30-21 12:46 AM
the starting QB for the St Louis Battlehawks in the XFL before the XFL's season got canceled, he got signed by the WFT in Dec 2020 as the 3rd QB behind Dwayne Haskins and Alex Smith, ended up starting in week 16 and the playoff game against Tampa. Coming into this season on a 2/yr 4.7mil deal to backup Fitzpatrick who suffers a season ending injury in week 1 and Heinicke is the starter

2751977, If im DK Metcalf i'm wanting out of Seattle ASAP.
Posted by Sofian_Hadi, Tue Nov-30-21 08:05 AM
He will never reach his ceiling playing with Russell Wilson. It's just not the right fit. He needs a "pure" passer that will force more throws his way and let him do his thing.
2751988, Seattle’s offense is broken…
Posted by Dstl1, Tue Nov-30-21 11:21 AM
partly because they cannot run the ball. DK is coming off a season of 83/1303 with 10 touchdowns. He and Russ were raining on the league, just a season ago and Russ was no more pure, last year. Alex Collins is not a starting RB, in the NFL…yet, he is theirs because Carson and Penny are both hurt.
2751990, its crazy how some QB's are purported to "forget" how to play football...

I put it on Oline and how the OC calls the plays. If your OC isn't 'giving you easy throws', you can mess around and look HORRIBLE on a bad day.

As for the randos, some of those QBs are almost all RPO, play action, bootlegs, one-two read at most type plays. Or they're fortunate enough to have one person to throw it to when in doubt. IE: WFT has Sweet Terry McLaurin. He's been rescuing their QBs his whole short career.

Also, this has been a big topic this year, but it is pretty clear that some offenses and QBs just can't accept that defenses have gone back to the Lovie/Dungy Cover 2-heavy looks. The 'throw it short and run it or we're gonna shut it down, sir' defense. People can talk about how the cover 2 leaves turkey holes all they want but a bunch of QBs haven't had to make those throws regularly in years.

Zooming in on Russ, it looks like ALL OF THAT is going on plus he seems to be obviously somehow not right/still hurting. He's getting hit more too which is really weird for him. Russ has been throwing on 1 on 1 looks downfield pretty much his whole Seattle career. Watch now..lots of times, he's throwing into zone clouds and crossing his fingers. He's making 'when you hit the button, you kinda know it should be a pick on Madden' throws.
2752013, fuckin a…and he made several of those to Lockett, last nigh…

including a d chuck and duck, which you don’t regularly see Russ do. There’s a ton of factors, but I’m simply not rolling with Russ being the wrong type of QB for DK.
