Did he not just see Jackson leave the Rams?

That’s Cupper land, with woods and Higbee. He is going
to go there and be a headache to Stafford.

He should have went to the Patriots. He would have instantly
been the number 1 guy. He was scared of discipline.

Nfl media loves to tag a wr as public enemy number one/team ‘cancer’/diva/whatever. It’s like a character they have to fill on their show every season. 2019 playoffs, it’s was Stefon Diggs. Oops. He led the league in yards and catches on his new team.

In the H, a few folks even fell for some lazily manufactured Hopkins slander when he got dealt. Oops again. He killed it in Arizona.

They’re not always wrong with this casting. We will see with OBJ. I hope he ends up being great in whatever role he lands. I’m guessing he’s the 3rd wr who occasionally kills nickel corners for chunk yardage, key 3rd downs, and things of that nature.

The heat is on Stafford here. This is an alleged amazing coach and a Madden ultimate team group of pass catchers.

If everyone is healthy, OBJ has to do an Antonio Brown impersonation..beat 3rd corners / make plays after folks assumed that you’re done / help other people be open. Win a SB. Go to it.

Remember the tough talk and assumption about Diggs when he was on the sideline openly beefing with Cousins and the Vikes? Then he went and led the league in yards and catches last year in Buffalo? Remember that?

The secondary, corners specifically, are horrendous. If you take away the ability to stop the run, that defense is getting massacred.

but goddamn the Browns defense is the absolute worst. all that money to basically give up 90+ yard drives more than once.

and yes, the refs are still letting Garrett holds go, but everyone behind the line is ASS.

Joe Woods's defensive plan is ASS.

this team should just job the rest of the season and figure out what they can get at this point.

maybe see if they can get Rodgers to come over at this point

but he was pretty damn good at it. Trevon takes risks
but, he’s bigger, stronger and has better hands. That pick he caught today
the ball was damn near behind his head. He just reached back with both hands and snatched it out if the air.

you actually run the ball, you stop some of those dumb designed runs, you let Devonta do what he do, and all of a sudden the dude goes from being the Johnny Manziel (with better attitude and work ethic) of the Eagles to perhaps a starter proper.

Eagles can put up points when they need to, the playcalling just needs to stop being cute.

Defense actually did stuff against the Donkeys so they got that W.

It's like watching the Browns with different expectations (and GOATs at RB).

Reagor is on "CUT BEAT" status. Devonta and Quez "U Mad???" Watkins already outpacing him and JJAW (another famous miss at WR).

All picks in the first round next draft need to be defense. I really think Gannon (much like Joe Woods in Cleveland) needs to GTFO.

No one in division is catching Dallas this year so forget that. I just need to keep seeing this kind of progress.

If it's possible to give Derek "Penalties" Barnett the boot after this season, the Eagles need to do it.

The only problem is that the GM will probably continue to be Howie.

Maaaaaan...he's been hurt a lot. It was the foot in Carolina too. And he almost certainly wasn't the same after COVID last year in New England. He lit up Seattle on that Sunday night game with all sorts of throws early last season and it was a party. By later in the season, the party was obviously over and he looked like a different human being out there. And they were pulling him out of the game when they needed a long throw/hail mary. SOMETHING was up with him but vintage New England, we weren't going to know about it in any kind of vivid details.
2750871, if he couldn't throw the ball down the field he wouldn't be on a roster

if you have ANY pedigree/experience, you'll almost always have a job even if you're not THAT great at it.

that said, my post has nothing to do w/ that. Pete's just past his prime - by a couple years.

time for some fresh blood even if it takes a minute to get back on track. John Schneider could go too. both of them are living on a legacy of 2 years of draft picks. since then, it's been PRETTY poor.
2750883, I don't disagree with any of that...

2750882, Feels like the end of the Holmgren era in Seattle right now
Posted by GOMEZ, Mon Nov-15-21 01:49 PM
Holmgren didn't suck, but the trend was headed in the wrong direction.

We've got a 32 year old QB (who doesn't seem super invested in Seattle anymore) and a coach in his 70's, and a lot of issues on our roster and on our coaching staff. We've had some bad draft luck, and our biggest free agent signings and trades have been pretty rough over the last few years.

I'm not sure if John Schneider is part of a rebuild or not either, but we need a change of direction.

Under the radar, but not really under the radar is the ownership group. Paul Allen had a vision and a process that landed talent in the front office and coaching staff. I don't even really know who calls those shots anymore.

It's a bummer to see it, but the greatest era in Seattle football really does feel like it's coming to a close.
2750884, oh it's DEFINITELY coming to a close.
Posted by PROMO, Mon Nov-15-21 02:41 PM
we had a nice run. best run of any sports team in the cities history, outside of the Sounders (some people don't rate them and i get that even though i'm an OG season ticket holder).

Pete and JS has a thing that worked a couple times and it really worked out. But it's not been working out for about 4 years now. Not only have they made some poor decisions about who they have drafted and signed, but I also put a lot of weight on the people they could've, and not only should of (for reasons of need AND on and off field reasons) drafted and didn't.

Russ, god bless him (cuz duh, Jesus is his homeboy), he's not gonna wanna be around for a rebuild and that's fair. He paid his dues and brought a ring and respect to the city. Won't be mad at all if he stays but not surprised at all if he wants to dip.

It's weird. We're not good enough to be GOOD, and we're not bad enough to be terrible. And that middle ground almost feels worse than than actually being bad because it makes a fan have hope and then disappointment, vs. just knowing we're trash and not having to be invested, LOL.
2750886, I'm about at this point this year.
