Posted by CyrenYoung, Wed Sep-22-21 02:03 PM
..Tua will sit out the game against the Raiders (fractured ribs), Fields gets the start against Cleveland, and Antonio Brown enters Covid protocols with 2 days of testing before his status can be confirmed.

Quite a few rookies at the helm this week.

What say you?

2746962, I knew there would be shenanigans at the QB in Chicago

Barring a terrible performance by Fields I don't see Dalton getting his spot back.

I predict an 0-3 start to the season for the Vikings.

Maybe OJ Howard & Cam Brate might get more looks too? I haven't seen almost anything from OJ since he came back from the injury. I hope he's back to playing shape.

I like Miller. He's undersized but his speed let's him stretch things out. But who's after him on the depth chart? Tyler Johnson, I think?
2746968, goddamn y’all still got OJ, Scotty and Brate riding pine

They've been raving about him for months. I would love to see him fill in for JPP and do a good job. I guess we'll see.

And I agree, both teams are probably gonna be airing it out. 19,250 combined yards (55 on the ground) on Sunday.

More than that, he indirectly poisoned franchises. It is insane how wrong the league had it with Gase. Dude was acting weird, being unlikable, and failing to maintain relationships with his best players to the degree that it seemed damn near intentional. He wasn't exactly winning over media folks either. Maybe he was a barrel of fun with owners during his interviews but I don't see that at all.

He probably legitimately did a decent job with an obviously ailing Manning. They drew up a mountain of short and easy throws and plays. Peyton was pre-snap wizardry as normal. They had talent. Shit went well. Since then though? C'mon now. Straight up offensive poi-sooooooon!
2747082, Peyton Manning was Peyton Manning. Past his prime but still Peyton...

Manning. Gase was obvious just along for the ride.

Didn't do anything before or since. Its comical that he got the Jets job immediately after he was fired for that debacle in Miami.

The epitome of white privilege.

a three hour game for twelve minutes of action isn't worth the time if the bears continue to not field an nfl offense.

He’s a bust , I have a lot of family in Chicago and I told them and they were all terrified bc they know I’m not biased and say it how I see it . His arm isn’t great (has no zip , and throws wobbly when you need a laser)

I’m still way higher on Haskins as a pro than Fields.

Stafford looks like a man with a new lease on life with that offense and Donald has that defense playing lights out.

Jalen Ramsey is the best CB in the league.

No excuses.

The Bucs clearly have needs to address in the secondary and need to be concerned about health overall with the number of injuries racked up today. Reminded me of the regular season loss to Green Bay last year.

A rematch in the NFC Championship game would be grand.

Posted by Sofian_Hadi, Mon Sep-27-21 07:39 AM
You could see it last regular season and at times during the playoffs, the secondary was extremely beatable. D line domination during the playoffs covered it up. They picked all linebackers. A position they are stacked at.
2747233, They drafted Chris Wilcox (BYU) @ CB...

2747284, I think he has potential, but expectations are high...
Posted by CyrenYoung, Tue Sep-28-21 12:10 PM
..being drafted by a team expecting to win now means that expectations are higher than the average rookie. JPP has always been a stellar talent on the defensive front, so filling those shoes won't be easy.

Troy has all the attributes, but also a lot to learn about the pass rush @ the professional level and will need to add tools to the arsenal. Fortunately, he has All Pro talent around to mentor and help bring him up to speed.

That Rams offensive line is not only stout, but astute. They were the real difference in that matchup. Stafford had plenty of time to operate and Tampa couldn't make enough adjustments to counter.

Posted by poetx, Tue Sep-28-21 04:56 PM
much as i hate to say it. granted, i expect philly to play a lot better than that, eventually, but dallas got some damn pieces.

dak was quietly excellent.

that 1-2 punch at rb is formiddable.

wideouts are sick and schultz at TE does some nice things. i still prefer goeddart but schultz is a very nice complementary piece at TE with the rest of that offense.

parsons is a monster. and, as you mentioned, diggs was on some other shit.

i don't know if it was a combination of him having two former teammates' number (he was following smith all over the field and blanketing him in man situations from the slot w/ a 2 way go. either smith REALLY got to work on his route running (and i think that's part of it) or diggs is REALLY talented). i'm gonna say some of both.

peace & blessings,

x.

Parsons is not for real, lol. This dude plays EVERYWHERE...and he not out there just running around like Jaylon Smith. He reads plays and then shows up at the spot. We got an actual pass rush the last two games without Demarcus Lawrence, because they asked Parsons to go get the quarter back. That's wild versatility, bro.

Posted by allStah, Mon Sep-27-21 10:11 PM
They could have been really competitive in this game,
but the holding calls and the ineligible man down field calls
kept killing their drives.

When your defense can’t stop anything, the offense will have to score
on almost every drive.
2747298, Miles Sanders only had 2 carries.
Posted by Dr Claw, Tue Sep-28-21 02:35 PM
that's a problem. not running the ball is tanking IMO
2747300, That is because Dallas kept scoring.
Posted by allStah, Tue Sep-28-21 02:50 PM
They had to pass on every down. Running game gets
scraped in that scenario.

But, at the same time ,there should have been a few more running
plays.

They had 12 penalties and receivers dropped passes....that’s about
20 points off the board right there.

Mental errors are what really killed them...they were able to move the
ball, but they kept making mistakes. When Philly made it 27-14, they
had a lot of momentum, but then they go and have 3 penalties called
against them on their next possession

Seemed inevitable. You can't leave him alone with the faster guys anymore but Sherman should still have the techniques/physicality/groping necessary to be an upgrade in their secondary.

And hopefully he's in a good place overall to have a rock solid ending to his playing career. I'd hate to see folks try to 'throw him away' over his personal stuff when he's mostly been an excellent ballplayer. And that interview with ole girl that got soooooo much attention was obviously excellent. People were and still are bitches for trying to try to turn that deal into something that it clearly wasn't.
