2746231, College Football Week 2
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 11:54 AM
Oregon up 7 and looking much better than expected early on. Stroud still looks like the game is too big for him early on.

Pitt vs Vols. Pitt had a punt blocked at their GL in the first minute. Pitt is settling down and its 10-7. Vols QB has missed a ton of wide open WR’s deep.

only other game I’m checking for is Iowa vs Iowa St at 4:30

2746232, It’s a bummer that Oregon is missing two of their defensive
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 12:06 PM
stars in Flowe and Thibs. I would love to see what Thibs could do against a quality opponent.
2746233, Buckeyes just caught the Ducks D slipping
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 12:13 PM
2746235, moorhead vs coombs is a huge mismatch
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 12:21 PM
osu D ain't it and stroud is still jittery
2746236, Oregon HC just said “fuck you” to his OC
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 12:21 PM
or whoever made him use that last time out.

Oregon late calling plays on O and D
2746237, and we gave it right back
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 12:22 PM
2746238, this being a noon kickoff is criminal. 11am out in Ohio
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Sat Sep-11-21 12:31 PM
this game deserved a marquee time slot
2746239, ive been harping on this all offseason...it's absurd
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 12:33 PM
props to oregon though for showing up and showing out when they've had every excuse to get blown out

edit: it was a noon start in ohio though
2746241, that wasn’t a hold on 19
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 12:38 PM
refs just stole one from the Ducks.. lol.
2746242, Oregon looks so good
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Sep-11-21 12:40 PM
weird to see Ohio State never run the ball, but Oregon is impressive
2746244, I’m shocked how well they are doing on D without Thibs
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 12:43 PM
2746245, osu has ran it plenty just not much there
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 12:44 PM
>weird to see Ohio State never run the ball, but Oregon is
>impressive
2746248, averaged 28 pass attempts a game last year. 22 at half
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Sep-11-21 12:56 PM
averaged 43 attempts last year on the ground, 17 at half.

just didnt expect it with a young QB at home is all. you're right nothing is there
2746256, throwing more screens this year which are effectively run plays
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 01:29 PM
i thought osu would have a lot more success on the ground today but oregon isn't respecting the pass and I can't blame them. making stroud beat them is obviously the way to go.
2746263, Are you a Stroud skeptic due to his inexperience or talent?
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 01:46 PM
So far I think Stroud looks great this season.
2746267, inexperience
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 01:51 PM
>So far I think Stroud looks great this season.

I'm not sure if we've been watching the same guy

Not saying he's been 'bad' but he's jittery and looks real young out there. If I'm an opposing DC I'd rather let him try to beat me than get smashed on the ground.
2746269, I suppose I should have said “great” for a kid starting his 2nd game
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 01:53 PM
And not having an easy start to his career with a road game at Minnesota and a home game against a talented Oregon team.
2746270, w/o their two best defensive players and struggled with fresno last week
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 02:03 PM
>against a talented Oregon team.
>
2746271, I’m fairness, the Oregon defense didn’t struggle against Fresno
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 02:06 PM
That was the offenses that struggled to move the ball and score last week.

However, you’re right about OSU should be able to do more with Thibs and Flowe out.
2746273, Fresno might be a decent team too
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 02:15 PM
not sure.. lol.

Stroud has a lot of yards but not many shots downfield.
2746281, good 2nd half overall but not ready to carry the team
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 02:49 PM
dude has a major problem with airmailing passes and not recognizing when to tuck it and run
2746283, I’m not used to the Buckeyes not going vertical
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 02:59 PM
2746337, he's a talent. but even with all the big counting numbers
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-11-21 11:12 PM
he is also distributing the ball to the best receiving group in the nation and should have done better. he definitely missed several throws that big-time quarterbacks make -- will he get there, maybe, but he's not there yet. and Ohio State kind of needs him to be there now.
2746243, Stroud with a dump off with 1 second left
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 12:43 PM
2746250, Doo Doo cereal!!
Posted by allStah, Sat Sep-11-21 01:10 PM
OSU defense is a god damn trash bin.

And olave dropping sure TD passes.

They are dropping out of the top 10 after today.

Fock! Michigan( hi ceej...bye ceej) just might beat them this year.
Can’t have that!

Game turning into a blowout
2746251, Okay, Domer
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 01:16 PM
2746253, what is your definition of "sure"
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Sep-11-21 01:20 PM
his completely outstretched arms touched the last 20% of the ball. im not sure anyone in the NFL catches that outside of maybe Hopkins
2746260, Man, get out of here.
Posted by allStah, Sat Sep-11-21 01:32 PM
That ball was catchable. He is an all American, and allegedly the best
receiver in college.

2746258, Dennis Dixon still QBing?
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 01:30 PM
2746286, If that happens Ryan day should be tarred feathered and sent back to NH
Posted by guru0509, Sat Sep-11-21 03:13 PM

>Fock! Michigan( hi ceej...bye ceej) just might beat them this
>year.
2746257, Feel bad watching this Georgia Tech jawn, lol…
Posted by Dstl1, Sat Sep-11-21 01:30 PM
Kennesaw State just has NO chance, in any phase.
2746259, coombs somehow managed to outdo his bama coaching performance
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 01:31 PM
what a hire
2746336, that third-and-seven Oregon converted on their last scoring drive
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-11-21 11:11 PM
was humiliating. the fact they would call that play, with the game on the line, shows how little Ohio State adjusted to anything they were doing in the run game. Buckeyes looked like a spring game vanilla defense trying to get reps in base cover two.
2746265, Smh
Posted by allStah, Sat Sep-11-21 01:47 PM
Passes on 4 and 2.
2746268, Oregon has really upgraded at their coordinator positions
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 01:51 PM
Tim DeRuyter was a great hire at DC, same with Moorhead at OC.
2746272, man Oregon handling business
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Sat Sep-11-21 02:09 PM
2746274, Carving OSU up everywhere.
Posted by allStah, Sat Sep-11-21 02:16 PM
Bum ass defense

Oregon’s defense is bum ass hell to...but OSU’s is straight trash.
2746278, known powerhouse Toledo down 1 in South Bend
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Sep-11-21 02:29 PM
both of the teams on Fox right now would blow out Notre Dame
2746279, You were saying?
Posted by allStah, Sat Sep-11-21 02:45 PM
2746282, 14-9.. with a minute left in the half. lmao
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 02:58 PM
2746284, its 16-14 Toledo and you're in here calling better teams bums
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Sep-11-21 03:02 PM
absurd behavior
2746288, Lstah
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 03:19 PM
dude stay taking L’s

and for the record I expect ND to win but the timing of that post was hilarious
2746290, This is No L or win situation.
Posted by allStah, Sat Sep-11-21 03:34 PM
I think you like to hear yourself talk.
2746293, RE: This is No L or win situation.
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 03:39 PM
>I think you like to hear yourself talk.

oh the irony.. lmao
2746289, You have it twisted
Posted by allStah, Sat Sep-11-21 03:31 PM
I support OSU! Always have. Because I hate Michigan.

But the defense is trash...period.

There is no lying about that.

I’m not sure what your argument is here.
2746277, Oregon starting to crack
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 02:27 PM
2746280, that was textbook targeting but whatever
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 02:47 PM
2746285, Vols, bitch? :(
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Sep-11-21 03:03 PM
2746335, showed life. tons of mistakes.
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-11-21 11:07 PM
but that's to be expected in the second game of a new staff and with the amount of attrition the team has had.

hope Milton gets better and never like to see an injury, but Hooker has to start now until proven otherwise. he gave the offense life, especially in the passing game. nothing he did was too elaborate, but Milton has zero juice throwing the ball.

the five false starts while playing in front of your non-sellout home crowd were just inexcusable. also was Heupel's play-call on 4th and inches when Tennessee was inside the Pitt 5-yard line late in the fourth quarter.

lining up in a jumbo shotgun package on 4th and inches is my most hated formation in football. there is no reason to go backwards with the football in that spot, and predictably the read-option was blown up because the defense knows damn well what's coming. have some balls and throw a pass or play it smart and QB sneak; anything else is flat out coaching stupidity.
2746287, congrats sfmatt!
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 03:18 PM
2746291, Man, I don’t think I have ever seen OSU’s defense get ripped
Posted by allStah, Sat Sep-11-21 03:36 PM
apart like that.

That run defense can’t stop anything.
2746294, Did you watch last years NC game?
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 03:42 PM
2746292, its looking like ND is a bit overrated.
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 03:38 PM
2746295, aTm has 24 yards with 3min left in 2nd qtr
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Sep-11-21 03:47 PM
love a good top 5 shuffle early in the season
2746297, Cincinnati tied with Murray State 7-7 in the 3rd quarter
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 04:17 PM
2746307, Man, Colorado almost pulled off the upset
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 05:56 PM
It is still early in his tenure and 2002 was barely a season but Dorrell is doing better at Colorado than I thought he would.
2746341, has to be one of the most agonizing losses ever
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-11-21 11:19 PM
if you're on the Colorado defense.

amazing that in today's game, two opposing quarterbacks can combine to go 31/63 for 4.3 YPA. how TF do you complete only 49% of your passes while barely targeting anyone past the line of scrimmage?
2746298, lmao at ND in a tight game with Toledo.... at home
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 04:47 PM
2746300, pac 12 having themselves the day of their pathetic lives
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 05:23 PM
let's see if washington comes to play tonight
2746303, UW isn’t winning tonight, the Pac 12 hate in you is strong
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 05:30 PM
Still angry about all those USC losses?

Time to let it go, we are in an Alliance together now brother!!
2746305, Was just joking really
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 05:48 PM
>Still angry about all those USC losses?
>
>Time to let it go, we are in an Alliance together now
>brother!!
2746304, yes, yes.. let the hate out
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-11-21 05:45 PM
2746301, Not pretty.
Posted by allStah, Sat Sep-11-21 05:24 PM
But ND gets the win. That’s all that matters at the end of the day.

Coan still has some developing to do.
2746306, Coan sucks, you ain’t winning shit with him at QB
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 05:55 PM
Anytime your program has to start a Wisconsin QB transfer means you don’t have a QB.
2746308, just let him develop!
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 06:01 PM
>Anytime your program has to start a Wisconsin QB transfer
>means you don’t have a QB.
2746309, Arkansas is dominating
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Sep-11-21 07:17 PM
the one thing Chad Morris could do is recruit. KJ Jefferson and Burks were some of his best but in game he may be the worst coach in the history of the SEC.
2746310, But I thought Texas was back?!?!
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 07:24 PM
I can’t wait to watch Texas struggle to 6, 7, and 8 win seasons in the SEC.
2746313, a few extra mill to watch sub .500 seasons
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Sep-11-21 07:54 PM
looks like Cal almost pulled off a sneaky win. you excited for the night game in Eugene on ESPN?
2746318, I’m not excited for this game or the rest of the season
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 08:37 PM
>looks like Cal almost pulled off a sneaky win. you excited
>for the night game in Eugene on ESPN?

I am done with Wilcox and this coaching staff. Cal sucks and this staff is lost, I can only hope we fire Wilcox, that’s all I have to look forward to and hope for. Cal will probably go 3-9 this season.
2746322, Texas is back... to disappointing its fans again
Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Sat Sep-11-21 08:52 PM
2746314, Michigan finally hit on a hyped RB
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-11-21 08:30 PM
only the rotational nature of the modern game can keep him from challenging Michigan's all time records

edit: him = Blake Corum
2746319, i missed these september proclamations haha
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 08:44 PM
>only the rotational nature of the modern game can keep him
>from challenging Michigan's all time records
2746323, eh....RBs dont require a lot of analysis
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-11-21 09:03 PM
he sees holes, hits them hard, and gets to top speed in like 3 strides

75 ypg for the rest of his career puts him top 5ish in the all time standings. thats not an outlandish number.
2746328, i dont know the records offhand
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 10:03 PM
but mich has had a pretty good history of backs so i would've guessed there would be some gaudy numbers to try and hit
2746330, when i typed i didnt realize Hart had a 5000 yd career
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-11-21 10:16 PM
he probably wont touch that lol
2746338, lol ya that's the first guy i thought of
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 11:13 PM
2746347, Yeah…the way rotations work for RBs now that’s likely to be
Posted by soulfunk, Sun Sep-12-21 06:32 AM
untouchable…
2746398, LOL
Posted by Ceej, Mon Sep-13-21 07:26 AM

2746332, He looked the part on high school. Glad to see him doing well
Posted by Beezo, Sat Sep-11-21 10:36 PM
2746315, washington offense is pretty much unwatchable
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 08:30 PM
.
2746316, not blocking Aiden Hutchinson is certainly a strategy
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-11-21 08:34 PM
4th and 4 and your plan is to read option a 1st rd draft pick? lol
2746320, i dont even think it matters what they run at this point
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 08:48 PM
2746317, I can’t believe how terrible it is and how quickly it fell apart
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 08:35 PM
Jimmy Lake might get fired after only his second season and his first season was a Covid shortened season so this is really kind of his first true season.
2746321, their OL is so lost
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-11-21 08:50 PM
UM is giving them NFL fronts and UW has no idea how to deal with them

2746326, My 7 yr old just cruised by the TV...
Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Sat Sep-11-21 09:24 PM
https://twitter.com/HenryRuns/status/1436878189674975232

My 7 yr old just cruised by the TV chewing on an apple & asked me if the Huskies were a high school team playing a college team because “they don’t move as fast and can’t seem to knock the other people down.”
2746327, finally, after 20 drives, a field goal!
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Sep-11-21 09:36 PM
2746329, This offense is so terrible, might be bottom 10 in the country
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 10:07 PM
2746331, UM has gone really passive all of the sudden
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-11-21 10:19 PM
and based on the results im not anticipating many coverage sacks this year :(
2746339, I thought Lake did a good job as a DC, thought it would translate
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-11-21 11:14 PM
his offenses look like some Jeremy Pruitt shit tho
2746344, I agree with all this. I thought Lake was a good DC and recruiter
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 11:43 PM
I thought it would all translate because a lot of these kids are his recruits and he was familiar with the program and helped rebuild it with Petersen but it has been a disaster.
2746367, That Michigan passing game though…ugghh
Posted by soulfunk, Sun Sep-12-21 04:46 PM
How is it year 7 if Harbaugh and we still don’t have a QB he’s developed enough to trust. We were out there running on third and long, and doing check downs to RBs on 3rd and 15. I know the Bell injury hurts but goodness…
2746324, Nice game in Lexington
Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Sat Sep-11-21 09:04 PM
UK - 28 | MIZ - 21

Kentucky should have at least another touchdown, but they fumbled at the 1. Mizzou took the ball back down and scored with 4 seconds left in the first half.

UK's had their way with Mizzou on the ground. Already over 230 yards through 3 quarters. Aside from a few nice drives from Mizzou, they've struggled.
2746325, Cade McNamara has thrown for 30 yards tonight...
Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Sat Sep-11-21 09:15 PM
https://twitter.com/TonyGerdeman/status/1436875765967110144

Cade McNamara has thrown for 30 yards tonight with a long completion of 33 yards.
2746333, Jacksonville State just beat FSU on a last-second TD
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-11-21 10:55 PM
2746342, also, great reminder that soft cover 3
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-11-21 11:32 PM
is probably the worst defense you could ever call against a Hail Mary

Tennessee-BYU 2019 and Denver-Baltimore 2012 immediately come to mind; I'm sure there are many more
2746345, the police kept jacksonville st from planting the flag at midfield lol
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sun Sep-12-21 12:29 AM
2746349, I thought FSU was back.. but then Notre Dame struggled with Toledo
Posted by legsdiamond, Sun Sep-12-21 09:50 AM
which leads me to believe ND isn’t that good and the praise being heaped on FSU was premature.
2746366, That used to be Michigan’s role - to be overrated after beating
Posted by soulfunk, Sun Sep-12-21 04:42 PM
an overrated ND team in early September.
2746334, USC kicker got ejected for targeting
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 11:02 PM
2746340, stanford looked like they were stuck in mud vs KSU last week
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-11-21 11:15 PM
2746343, Yeah I don’t get it. I fucking hate stanfurd and Shaw
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-11-21 11:36 PM
I don’t know how they go from barely scoring 7 against K State to putting up 21 points and a lot of yards in the first half against SC.
2746346, My nephew got his first playing time in for Stanford…
Posted by soulfunk, Sun Sep-12-21 06:30 AM

2746431, The Jags play at the Rams on 12/5, I have a feeling Urban
Posted by calij81, Mon Sep-13-21 05:08 PM

It is strange timing.
2746432, lol no

2746437, I think he'll quit before they have a chance to fire him

2746439, The season doesn’t end until January 9th so the timing checks out
Posted by calij81, Mon Sep-13-21 07:15 PM
He can coach until the Rams game, get blown out and just chill at the beach. SC’s campus is only 8 miles away from the Rams stadium.
