2745236, Kevin Durant is a lame
Posted by COOLEHMAGAZINE, Wed Aug-18-21 10:13 PM
This guy…

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/32045883/kevin-durant-draymond-green-says-golden-state-warriors-mishandled-2018-incident-contributed-team-breakup

""I remember watching 'The Last Dance,' and when Scottie didn't go into the game, the whole team in the locker room said, 'Scottie, that was f---ed up that you did that.' We needed that. We just needed to throw all of that s--- on the table and say, 'Yo Dray, K, that was f---ed up that we even had to go through that.'

"Let's just wipe our hands with that and go finish the task. ... I didn't think we did that. We just tried to dance around it. I just didn't like, just the vibe between all of that, it just made s--- weird to me."

Now, clearly Kerr didn't do his job right if he couldn't get the locker room past this and he needed to. What they are saying sounds like an accurate criticism…

BUT YOU GUYS ARE GROWN MEN SITTING THERE BLAMING COACH BECAUSE YOUR DIDN'T HASH OUT YOUR DIFFERENCES???!?!?!?!

HOW SWAY??

How can you sit there and bring up all these other people instead of just saying, hey ", I should have never let this happen. I should have stood up in the locker room and told everyone I fucked up. I should have pulled Dray to the side and we worked it out"

Let the pundits talk about Kerr and whoever else.

KD whole personality and way of behaving is fucking weird to me.
2745237, my only issue was Draymond sorta contradicted himself.
Posted by pretentious username, Wed Aug-18-21 11:08 PM

they were agreeing Kerr and Bob handled it wrong by just letting it slide, but also that they should've let Draymond address it/apologize to KD how he wanted to... but what was stopping Draymond from doing exactly that?

>
>KD whole personality and way of behaving is fucking weird to
>me.

Draymond came off weirder to me here. For one thing, KD has had to address this question a bunch of times, and probably will a bunch more times, but I think he did a pretty good job of explaining his thought process. I doubt the issue is "dead," but I think he'll be asked about it less.

But Draymond is still on the team and his criticism didn't make a whole lot of sense given that he was the one who was out of line.
2745249, it felt like Dray didn't apologize because they told him to.
Posted by tariqhu, Thu Aug-19-21 08:59 AM
which is petty. he should've done it regardless of managements angle.

KD was leaving anyway, but this whole thing didn't help any argument for him to stay.

2745254, Can't demand a professional to apologize like that. That's slavery shit
Posted by Orbit_Established, Thu Aug-19-21 09:34 AM

You can't make that kind of demand

He didn't physically assault someone or steal someone's
bread

This is a professional dispute between two Hall of Famers

You can encourage them to discuss things, have a forum,
hire a therapist

But you can't DEMAND that of anyone

That's slavery shit

The front office ROUTINELY GETS SCOUTING advice from
Draymond. Kerr ROUTINELY says Draymond is smartest player
he's coached

You can't treat someone like that as if they are a child

they did fuck it up. the guidance should've been go work it out instead of demanding anything.
2745239, They’re insinuating the breakup could’ve been prevented…
Posted by Tiger Woods, Wed Aug-18-21 11:29 PM
…which is just disingenuous unfair bullshit

KD had one foot out the door after that first chip , and he’s all but said so himself. Still love love love watching him play though.

And for Draymond to throw stones here takes some nerve. Love how hard he plays but he talks like he’s got immunity , and I think Myers would ship him off tomorrow if he thought it made the team better
2745241, Kevin Durant isnt lame just hyperfocused on ball
Posted by Kira, Thu Aug-19-21 12:14 AM
That new book paints this picture of KD as this player that every fan wants their guy to be. He doesn't have none bball hobbies and that's something to worry about.

The team would've broken up either way because KD was on his way out. KD and Ky knew about their plan before this happened, allegedly.
2745242, But none of it was on KD to begin with IMO
Posted by bentagain, Thu Aug-19-21 12:29 AM
We're talking about Dray barking on KD
During a game
On the court
after HE f'd up
What part of that is on KD to resolve?
He was right.
Dray should've passed the ball.
He came into that situation
Wasn't his team
The GM and HC fostered an environment where Dray is the enforcer to Steph and Klay's good guy images
Dray clearly got too comfortable...and someone on that team needed to check him...and that someone was not KD
It wasn't his team
Wasn't there a Dray locker room meltdown before KD even got there?

Yeah, probably disingenuous to say that's the reason he left...but I don't see how it's on KD to resolve the situation
GSW created that monster.

https://bleacherreport.com/post/nba/36251f11-0393-42e1-9654-084818b8bd98

and Dray solidifies his dickheadedness with the statement following that exchange
They asked him to apologize...he laughed in their face (c)

Good interview though.
2745248, I feel like if Steph was any kind of leader he would've squashed that...
Posted by ThaTruth, Thu Aug-19-21 08:58 AM
I can't remember if he was injured or what the reason he wasn't on the court, if he's there maybe the situation never happens. In locker rooms if you have a volatile guy like Dray you need a more even tempered personality that is equally respected to balance that out. Dray was used to barking and everybody getting scared, KD was the first person to challenge him and he didn't handle it well. Like I've said in the past you don't call another grown man a "b.a.n." and not throw hands or apologize and think it will ever be good regardless of what anyone says.

2745251, The look on KD's face when Dray was telling him about being asked
Posted by bentagain, Thu Aug-19-21 09:26 AM
to apologize...full scooby doo...AROO!!!

Yeah, exactly, the leadership dynamic was already solidified before KD got there
The way I'm interpreting what KD is saying...is...nobody seems to be able to effectively address Dray's outburts...and KD wasn't going to stay on to be a B.A.N.

They look like they're good now...but to your point...I wonder how many times Steph and Klay got barked on like that...and it would appear that the way GSW handles him is...Dray being Dray

Not hard to imagine where someone coming in wouldn't be okay with that.

Dray is kind of like Rodman, in that he plays with a controlled rage
Chuck Daley was effective in getting Rodman to focus that energy contructively
Dray doesn't seem to have a Chuck Daley in his life that can get through to him

>Dray

that's the thing, Steph, Klay and Dray all basically came up together so they let Dray do him, another star player coming into that dynamic was bound to be some friction
2745264, kd really did look like that was the 1st time he heard that.
Posted by Reeq, Thu Aug-19-21 10:58 AM
>to apologize...full scooby doo...AROO!!!

like he had no idea they actually pressed dray to apologize to him.
2745244, KD is one of the best players ever.. Draymond isn’t
Posted by legsdiamond, Thu Aug-19-21 05:47 AM
2745255, Both are Hall of Famers, and you sound frustrated
Posted by Orbit_Established, Thu Aug-19-21 09:35 AM

Draymond was in the Gold Medal game embarrassing haters,
he was third best team USA player after Durant and Jrue
in the Gold Medal game, he was unreal, they lose if he
isn't there

But besides the point:

Treating the pretty girl better is a loser, wimp mentality

Dray wont.

KD leaves..

Clay gets hurt

and Green is now responsible for GS not winning 3 or 4 more championships.

Green got what he wanted.

2745250, You nailed it
Posted by guru0509, Thu Aug-19-21 09:02 AM

Bob Myers should have been on the phone the next day taking offers for Draymond

There’s only one Kevin Durant , there are dozens of guys that can get you 7 ptsd and 7 rebounds and 5 assists a game

That's how you lose

Draymond is the smartest player any of them have ever
played with, everyone has said it multiple times

You trust your intelligent professionals to work it out
as adults

You can't treat people differently because one person is
more talented

That's how you build a losing machine

Draymond was the third most important player in the Team USA
gold medal game after Durant and Jrue...dude is incredible,
and him and Durant get along just fine. They just needed to
sort shit out

But white people who don't understand Black men stuck their
nose in the situation and fucked it up

2745262, draymond is an idiot and anyone defending him is an idiot too
Posted by guru0509, Thu Aug-19-21 10:36 AM

he killed a dynasty bc he wanted the last shot over Durant because he’s an insecure bitch who was threatened by the best player on the planet

>Draymond is the smartest player any of them have ever
>played

Stopped reading after this .

Have a nice day .
2745270, ^^^^ This. That said these two grown ass men
Posted by Stadiq, Thu Aug-19-21 01:34 PM

Didn't need management to have a conversation. Anyone saying otherwise is a dweeb and/or deep in some weird agenda.

Warriors management/coaching clearly fucked up some things with regards to injuries, etc...but blaming them for these two not talking is hilarisad.

They are both cornballs, its just that KD is a great basketball player, and Dray is a decent player with unbelievable luck.

And if there is one player that is more of an insecure weirdo than KD, it is definitely Draymond.

What a pair when you think about it.
2745272, Where do ya’ll work?
Posted by bentagain, Thu Aug-19-21 02:30 PM
I can’t think of any example where his actions in the workplace wouldn’t be disciplined

+1, as I mentioned in an earlier post, this wasn’t the first incident of this nature with Dray

Where you work?

If this happened off the court, away from cameras…sure, dap it out, bro hugs and alladat

The whole world saw it and there was even a post on this board right after it happened predicting it was the end

He absolutely needed to apologize to the entire team

That $hit was unacceptable.

Credit to both of them for even broaching the subject

But the obvious issue with the interview is no follow up

Did he even apologize to KD…at all?
2745296, I really don’t see anything wrong with management telling
Posted by legsdiamond, Fri Aug-20-21 03:07 PM
Draymond to apologize to their best player.

Dude laughed in their faces and wrecked what could’ve been a dynasty for the ages..

and this was all because????

2745267, you cant treat players differently because one is more talented?
Posted by legsdiamond, Thu Aug-19-21 11:42 AM
lmao.. what?
2745252, Wow you guys are sensitive dweebs & losers
Posted by Orbit_Established, Thu Aug-19-21 09:27 AM
The Warriors front office tried to Good N-word/Bad N-word the situation, and it backfired.

You can't do that to two exceptional and intelligent people.

That's something they have to work out.

Draymond is the smartest person that any of them have
ever been in a room with, you can't treat him like a dummy

It doesn't work that way

The front office tried to play parent and they shouldn't
have

Notice how they were just fine on Team USA. Why? Because
they respect each other. Intense people get into fights
all of the time. You can't treat one different than the other
because one has big tits...you let the professionals sort it

Shocked by the replies...no wonder why everything is all fucked
up now, y'all are wimps and losers
2745256, KD disagrees with you
Posted by bentagain, Thu Aug-19-21 09:37 AM
‘I didn’t like the way they pretended it didn’t happen’
paraphrasing…but he said he wanted the HC and GM to address it
?
2745260, Naw, disciplining Dray and not ADDRESSING THE ISSUE was KD's beef
Posted by Orbit_Established, Thu Aug-19-21 09:56 AM

Trying to BLAME Draymond for a chemistry problem was the
issue

That's what Durant is talking about

It was a team issue, they should have talked about it

Posted by blueeclipse, Thu Aug-19-21 03:37 PM
You want your star player to ALSO be the alpha on the team but sometimes it doesn't line up that way. I guarantee you back in the day there would have been hands thrown over this whether it was the star player or the 12th man doing this shit. Dudes are just built differently now. Some shit does not need to go upstairs and just needs to stay in the locker room. There's a weird ass dynamic to this team if this type of shit was allowed INSIDE THE LOCKER ROOM.
