2736051, Hornets just played their most complete game of the season
Posted by fontgangsta, Mon Apr-26-21 08:01 AM
a total BEAT DOWN of a healthy boston team, while STILL missing melo and monk and hayward
this team would have had the 4 spot locked down hard if the injury bug hadn't got 'em, but they're gonna be a factor for years to come regardless
Find a team with more talent on rookie contracts than charlotte has. I'll wait.
2736053, aren't Monk and Graham due new contracts next season?

2736057, we'll have qualifying offers on both of them
Posted by fontgangsta, Mon Apr-26-21 09:40 AM
and since we have their bird rights as well (like we do w most of our team), we should be able to match whatever the market bears on them
2736060, just like we saw in OKC, its hard to keep all those young players...
Posted by ThaTruth, Mon Apr-26-21 10:37 AM
together if the do develop into stars
2736061, true
Posted by fontgangsta, Mon Apr-26-21 10:53 AM
not too TOO worried about it tho
Mitch is a terrific GM - and at the end of the day, all decisions will revolve around Melo, he's the future of this team.
But by all accounts, this team has outstanding chemistry and they all love playing together. I could see melo and miles being a tandem for years and years to come.
the OKC example is def a cautionary tale, but i dont think Presti is half the GM that Mitch Kupchak is TBH
2736068, Keep Monk move on from Graham IMO
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Mon Apr-26-21 01:02 PM
dont really need him w/ Melo, Scary Terry and Monk

>charlotte has. I'll wait.

There'd be a strong case for NO just off the strength of Zion
There's also Atlanta, Oklahoma City, and my favorite; Memphis
2736058, im obv a homer
Posted by fontgangsta, Mon Apr-26-21 09:44 AM
but i think we beat any of those teams pretty handily in a series with both teams at full strength
2736065, Not Atlanta or Memphis.
Posted by allStah, Mon Apr-26-21 12:15 PM
They have way better bigs and consistent shooting.

And the only reason why the Hornets beat Boston was because
Robert Williams didn’t play, so they had no athleticism or rim protection
in the paint. Tristan is trash.

Hornets are definitely a team to look out for in the future, but right now
they are just entertaining to watch.

That hardwood floor is hideous though. No way could I watch that every game.

2736070, i mean, if we're playing the injury game
Posted by fontgangsta, Mon Apr-26-21 01:54 PM
>And the only reason why the Hornets beat Boston was because

CLT was out melo, hayward, and monk - so miss me with Timelord saving the day on this one. Shit, We havent had a functional center all season! lol

and i think you're wrong about atlanta and memphis - id love for us to get a chance to prove it against ATL this year
2736072, Don’t let those Miles Bridges dunk go to your dome piece
Posted by allStah, Mon Apr-26-21 03:26 PM
Give it time, homie. Give it time.
2736075, nah you're right, its early for this team
Posted by fontgangsta, Mon Apr-26-21 03:54 PM
we're already ahead of schedule on this 'rebuild' so the whole fanbase is getting out in front of our skis a little bit. Its the first time we havent been a laughing stock of a team in a lot of years tho, so bear with us :)
we're getting ready to make some noise tho...
2736077, No doubt. I know y’all going to come out with guns blazing.
Posted by allStah, Mon Apr-26-21 04:49 PM

Rightfully so. Ain’t going to be tell y’all shit if y’all fock around
and make it to the eastern conference.

lol
2736073, Home stretch is brutal for the Knicks:
Posted by Castro, Mon Apr-26-21 03:31 PM
Phoenix, Chi, Houston, Memphis, Denver, Phoenix, Clippers, Lakers, Spurs, Charlotte, Boston.
2736076, Like I said in the other NBA thread
Posted by Numba_33, Mon Apr-26-21 04:03 PM
if the Knicks end up at the sixth spot, I'll be more than pleased. Anything to avoid that dreadful play-in scenario.

Doing a quick gleaning at that line-up, none of those playoff bound teams are likely to want to rest folks like teams did in prior years either, which hurts even more.
2736080, Clippers are 8-1 with Rondo...

2736090, Pay Dennis whatever.
Posted by Ryan M, Mon Apr-26-21 09:42 PM
Will he be overpaid? Yes.

Does that matter? No. Not while we’re capped with AD and Bron.

Pay the man.
2736097, we still have the postseason to go
Posted by ThaTruth, Tue Apr-27-21 07:42 AM
2736112, Sure.
Posted by Ryan M, Tue Apr-27-21 12:27 PM
But the fact is - you will NOT be able to replace his production. We have his bird rights and can go over the cap - but it's not as if we have another 25 mil to spend on another guard.
2736091, Mike Conley and D'Lo balled out tonight in a close game
Posted by guru0509, Tue Apr-27-21 01:46 AM
Mike Conley Jr 26 points 7 assists 9 rebounds with the go ahead 3 in the final seconds

D LO 27 poitns, 12 assists, 2 rebounds, and the game winning layup in the final seconds (off the BENCH)

TOSU = PG U

I remember when we used to churn out an occasional productive NBA player

*sigh* good ole days

Live by the 3 die by the 3.

Not once did they stop shooting 3s to go for a 2.

As great as Curry is, this new generation doesn’t know
how to just go to hole.

A prime time TV game at that.

2736149, Dort is something else...
Posted by Dstl1, Wed Apr-28-21 10:30 AM
I tweeted on draft night that he reminded me of Donovan Mitchell. Just how he moves and his ability to get to the basket. Anxious to see what a core of Shai, Dort and Baze...plus all those damn picks, can become.
2736172, Good game, so far...Wiz need every win, too
Posted by Dstl1, Wed Apr-28-21 06:56 PM
.
2736173, is 20&10 coming back?
Posted by ThaTruth, Wed Apr-28-21 07:37 PM
used to be a staple of big men but recently became a rarity seems like a lot more guys are hitting that mark this year...

Giannis
Vucavic
Embiid
Jokic
Russ
KAT
Randall
(Sabonis at 19.9 & 11.6, Christian Wood at 21.1 & 9.8)
2736175, Hachi, chill!!!

2736176, AD has zero presence out there.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Wed Apr-28-21 08:22 PM
no oomph at all. he challenged that out of obligation to not look lazy. there was no actual intent to meet Hachimura at the summit
2736178, Yeah...he couldn’t just watch him bang it...
Posted by Dstl1, Wed Apr-28-21 08:30 PM
but he doesn’t have the legs, tonight.

2736264, Kevin Porter Jr. making it rain on the Bucks to the tune of Fiddy.
Posted by Castro, Thu Apr-29-21 09:24 PM
Meanwhile John Wall at a BBQ spot talking bout he the face of the franchise. SMH.
2736277, Once he cuts down on his TOs and becomes more efficient
Posted by allStah, Thu Apr-29-21 10:17 PM
he will be a megastar.

Cleveland (lol)
2736282, 50 with 11 dimes.
Posted by Castro, Thu Apr-29-21 11:27 PM
2736283, All against Jrue Holiday.
Posted by allStah, Thu Apr-29-21 11:44 PM
The best defensive PG in the league.

And Houston finally closed the door on John Wall. Porter has the franchise keys
now.

Just gotta keep him on the straight and narrow.
2736300, He put up the performance all of Cavs Nation hoped for..
Posted by Kira, Fri Apr-30-21 09:44 AM
.. When he was drafted. It's a shame things didn't work out but's better for KPJ the man to have a mentor in John Lucas active in his life.
2736328, A NBA player named Alize’ Johnson makes me feel old

2736355, I hear his name and get an instant hangover

2736330, Ok I’ll say it, Drummond is hot garbage
Posted by ThaTruth, Fri Apr-30-21 09:50 PM
2736331, NOPE!
Posted by allStah, Fri Apr-30-21 09:57 PM
Your people said that this put y’all over the hump.
Just like with Marc Gasol (LoL)

Y’all were going to destroy the paint, remember?

HAHAHAHa!!

Davis will be back in Chicago in a few years.

2736332, Never been a Drummond but I think we promised him a starting spot...
Posted by ThaTruth, Sat May-01-21 12:23 AM
to get him to sign but his minutes will go down in the playoffs
2736340, He's been bad for a while now.
Posted by Frank Longo, Sat May-01-21 09:32 AM
Great rebounder, elite even... but a net negative player in today's NBA.
2736351, He has Kwame Brown type hands, I’ve never seen a 7 footer blow so...
Posted by ThaTruth, Sat May-01-21 04:38 PM
dunks at the rim in the short time he’s been a Laker, it’s almost like defect. Then after he blows an easy dunk or bunny he’ll come back and make a much more difficult shot look easy
2736358, he shoots ~48% FG
Posted by bearfield, Sun May-02-21 03:04 AM
in a vacuum this isn't awful but the fact that he almost exclusively takes shots within 5 ft of the rim and misses about half of them is pretty damning. he's a great rebounder though and doesn't really need to do much but rack up boards since there is so much scoring on LAL when they're at full strength. he's essentially just there to take up space at the 5 so AD can play the 4, like dwight did last year
2736359, exactly...

most bigs that only shoot that close are usually closer to 60%

right at almost 10 years younger you'd think he'd be just as good as Dwight at this point but he's not. It will be interesting to see what the market is for him this off-season
2736333, No Fox, No Bagley, No Barnes.
Posted by allStah, Sat May-01-21 12:45 AM
And the Lakers with Lebron, AD, Dennis and Drummond got
murked!

This ain’t Ernest Goes to Camp ...this is the real season.
Summer camp was last year.

Lol
2736334, 9 games left in the regular season...
Posted by CyrenYoung, Sat May-01-21 08:08 AM
..Bron is back, shaking off the rust and ready to roll (even in a loss).

Gonna be interesting to see how the rest of the roster adjusts and Vogel works to solidify the playoff rotation.

2736357, Stan Van Jeremy needs to be fired.
Posted by Kira, Sun May-02-21 12:34 AM
It"s damn clear most of that roster hates playing for him. He's a good gm but trash coach evidenced by this team's disappointing season.

Lonzo walks if Svj is the head coach next season.
2736360, should’ve never been hired
