Even if the Texans were boxed into a corner over Watosn's demands, they still would have gotten a good deal for trading him; any offer was going to net them multiple first round draft picks and some solid player/QB. They'd at least have the building blocks for a rebuild.

If they end up waiving him/terminating his contract due to a moral clause or whatever, they get nothing at all, aside from cap space. They're already considered an inept organization, and now they'd be an inept organization who was out to wreck the career of a top-tier QB. That's not a good tactic to draw in marquee free agents.
