Hope he's okay.
2732615, a tweet from his agent says he is in surgery...
Posted by Dstl1, Tue Feb-23-21 02:53 PM
with "multiple leg injuries". Shit.
2732613, i hope thats the end of the story.

2732614, brother, we thought the exact same thought....
Posted by Dstl1, Tue Feb-23-21 02:52 PM

2732624, why?

.
2732630, With the full press coverage they’re acting like he’s deceased...
Posted by ThaTruth, Tue Feb-23-21 04:53 PM
just report that he was in an accident and move on
2732633, yeah this is running across the entire media like a major event
Posted by Reeq, Tue Feb-23-21 04:59 PM
on the level of him sustaining life threatening injuries and fighting to stay alive.

i mean...im hapoy if everyone was genuinely concerned. but it seems like a lot of outlets wanna get in on the ground floor of a story that could potentially reap more eyeballs as later (dramatic) developments break.
2732634, cool, cool
Posted by Dstl1, Tue Feb-23-21 05:16 PM
.
2732623, Sad man, I know the area where that happened too
Posted by JiggysMyDayJob, Tue Feb-23-21 03:31 PM
I don't like driving up in those hills. Hopefully surgery turns out good and this isn't career ending.
2732626, Shit, Man.
Posted by allStah, Tue Feb-23-21 04:00 PM
He was doing too much too soon.

He just had back surgery, and should not have been driving.
Someone should have been driving or he should have been in
an Uber.

Ramona Shelburne spoke about her recent surgery which was similar,
and said he father had been driving her around.

Where are his agents, managers, and advisors? Billion dollar athlete
just driving around by himself after having recent surgery.

Why was he Mcing a tournament the other day, and doing an
interview in Jim Lance after having back surgery?

Forget the golf, the marketing, and just focus on your health and family.

This is reminding me too much of Michael Jackson and Prince...Their bodies
were shot from doing years of high level performances, but still pushing themselves
and medicating their physical issues with pain killers.

Get well and forget about the game for now.

2732628, I'm having a hard time seeing Tiger using Uber.
Posted by Buck, Tue Feb-23-21 04:08 PM
2732629, 'hey its tiger. i need you to do me a huge favor.'
Posted by Reeq, Tue Feb-23-21 04:33 PM
2732636, Dude’s almost a billionaire, he can afford a full-time driver
Posted by ThaTruth, Tue Feb-23-21 05:17 PM
2732652, Exactly!
Posted by allStah, Tue Feb-23-21 09:41 PM
Billionaire athlete just driving around by himself...and he is definitely
taking pain killers to deal with the surgery pain. No way around it.

This is the third driving situation he has been in.

This shit could have been avoided, man.

I’m tired of seeing super star black athletes and performers have tragic
endings...tired

Let this be a warning ...

2732635, What?

2732654, All of that just to meet up with
Posted by allStah, Tue Feb-23-21 09:59 PM
Drew Brees to help him practice golf? He was running late for the practice, so
he sped off to get there ASAP?

I’m confused as fock. This dude didn’t have a driver to take him there?
And the fact that he almost hit a producer’s car when he took off is beyond
alarming.

Compound fracture, plus shattered ankle. He will be rehabbing for at least a year,
and probably will not be able to walk for about 4-6 months. And he is still recovering
from back surgery.

At least he will be able to rest and sit still for awhile.

Maybe this is a blessing in disguise.

2732663, People speed for all types of reasons
Posted by Cenario, Wed Feb-24-21 08:28 AM
Being late to appointments is one of em.

Whst are you confused about?
2732669, At the fact that since he recently had back surgery
Posted by allStah, Wed Feb-24-21 09:15 AM
he was driving himself around, and still trying to do several events
and outings.

They talked about it on ESPN. That he was doing too much too soon,
and that he should have had a driver. They didn’t specify the exact date
of the surgery, but in his interview the other day he talked about having
an MRI done to see if the back had healed, so he was still in the healing
phase.

And to add to that, it’s just weird to me that a billionaire athlete was driving himself
around in general with no one with him, etc.
2732701, It’s weird to you, mere mortal man
Posted by Nodima, Wed Feb-24-21 03:49 PM
If the Tiger doc made anything perfectly clear, it’s that Tiger is the sort of combination of control freak and perfectionist to see himself as invincible, and we’ve seen hundreds of examples of people not learning their lesson the first time they fly too close to the sun, especially if there’s some kind of redemption arc in between incidents. Just makes it easier to start believing you’re a god again.

2732704, What's the point of affording expensive cars if you don't drive them?
Posted by Buck, Wed Feb-24-21 05:07 PM
>And to add to that, it’s just weird to me that a billionaire
>athlete was driving himself
>around in general with no one with him, etc.

Like, if I ever have enough to get into a Ferrari or some shit, no, no, nobody else is driving. Nope.

Plus I don't get why you think just because somebody's rich they wouldn't want to drive themselves around anymore.
2732855, RE: What's the point of affording expensive cars if you don't drive them?
Posted by allStah, Fri Feb-26-21 03:52 PM
If I am a highly famous athlete worth a billion, I’m not
just going to be rolling dolo, especially if I’m running late.

You see Jordan rolling around with a friend( yes man..lol) or
an associate.

Cats in Chicago take Uber just to go ten blocks up.

But it’s Tiger, the same dude cheating with prostitutes
with no liaison or middle man and doing it on his personal phone.

2732679, the man is lucky to be alive, fuck golf.

2732692, that new Genesis most likely saved his life
Posted by HecticHavoc, Wed Feb-24-21 02:08 PM
theres no bright side in this except for being in the very safe vehicle.

Perhaps you can look at it like this will give him time to stop working his body and give his back a year of non-activity to heal. but at this point I just want him to be able to walk.

i had a pretty severe compound fracture in my foot playing basketball and tore all 3 ligaments off my leg to my foot and that was a full year of rehab. he'll get the worlds best treatment, I personally think he will be back competing.
2732697, at the crash sight they say there were multiple trees and poles that he...
Posted by ThaTruth, Wed Feb-24-21 02:19 PM
could've hit which would've made the outcome a lot worse according to local LE
2732700, what makes you say that?
Posted by Kungset, Wed Feb-24-21 03:29 PM
just curious because i haven't seen anything about it. how do we know it didn't make the crash more likely in the first place?

> that new Genesis most likely saved his life
2732670, open fractures could be a mess of infections.
Posted by tariqhu, Wed Feb-24-21 09:27 AM
hopefully they're taking good care of him.
2735083, excessive speed..

https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id/31209160/excessive-speed-caused-tiger-woods-suv-crash-sheriff-says

Woods' SUV was traveling from 84 to 87 mph on a downhill stretch of road outside Los Angeles that had a speed limit of 45 mph and was going 75 mph when his car hit a tree, Sheriff Alex Villanueva said.
2735084, Hm. Well, fuck him, then.

Posted by Buck, Wed Apr-07-21 04:06 PM
"Authorities said there was no evidence of impairment or of distracted driving."

"Woods told deputies that he had not ingested medication or alcohol before the crash."
2735117, I remembered him being cleared by blood tests
Posted by Kungset, Wed Apr-07-21 05:12 PM
Months ago. But I looked it up after this speeding thing came out, and read those stories more carefully. Turns out the police never even bothered to get a warrant for the blood and just took Tiger’s word for it 😆
2735143, I thought I heard they weren’t sure he was conscious at the time...
Posted by ThaTruth, Thu Apr-08-21 07:34 AM
of the crash
2735112, Fuck him? For speeding?
Posted by Cold Truth, Wed Apr-07-21 04:11 PM
If he were speeding because he had just kidnapped a baby, sure, fuck him.

As it stands "fuck him" seems a little extreme for the circumstances.
2735113, Yes. And you should think about why some people might feel that way.
Posted by Buck, Wed Apr-07-21 04:25 PM
2735119, Or you could just fucking say it plainly
Posted by Cold Truth, Wed Apr-07-21 05:14 PM
FOH asking me to read your mind

If you have some personal issue where you've been impacted by a reckless driver, cool. I get that. But just fucking say that instead this passive aggressive bullshit.
2735635, ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Posted by Rjcc, Thu Apr-15-21 03:56 PM
ok now I get it, this is why you need to yell at me about shit you imagined I said.

go on bro, get it out. shit, I thought you might be going through something serious, this is just about the L you took on this post?

sure, make me the bad guy

2735116, Going 87 anywhere up there is crazy reckless
Posted by Kungset, Wed Apr-07-21 05:10 PM
Especially if it was on one of the cliffside type of roads
2735121, so reckless.
Posted by GOMEZ, Wed Apr-07-21 05:38 PM
>Especially if it was on one of the cliffside type of roads

I hope he gets better, and I'm really glad he only ended up harming himself, but he was def driving like an asshole.
2735125, ehhh, driving 80 in a 40 is fuck you territory
Posted by Rjcc, Wed Apr-07-21 06:14 PM
I'm not saying I'd say it, but I can't defend that behavior, you're putting other people at risk

www.engadgethd.com - the other stuff i'm looking at
2735127, Agreed. I'm good with taking the L on this.
Posted by Cold Truth, Wed Apr-07-21 06:38 PM
The lone caveat to me, in terms of my initial response, is it seems like this occurred in a vacuum. So I'm not really sweating someone driving like that when it's just them out there.

But then, he could have easily hit someone he couldn't see coming around a bend, or someone hiking or what have you.
2735640, you know this wasn't a competition?
Posted by Rjcc, Thu Apr-15-21 04:34 PM
you didn't lose.

I disagreed, that was it.

Posted by theMindofFury, Wed Apr-07-21 07:57 PM
My brother drives on that stretch of road 2-3 times per week. He said you're crazy if you speed there; 87 mph is either pure stupidity or just Tiger being Tiger and not giving a shit.
2735641, Any of us would be like “fuck that asshole” if we saw someone
Posted by RandomFact, Thu Apr-15-21 04:46 PM
speeding like that.

I’ve driven around that area before. 87 mph is crazy, but it’s even crazier in Palos Verdes where you’re driving through a hilly area with borderline extreme inclines, declines and turns.

2753334, Incredible run today from Tiger and Charlie at the PNC…
Posted by soulfunk, Sun Dec-19-21 03:54 PM
8 birdies in a row with a chance for the lead at 18…the fact that Tiger is doing this after what happened this year is amazing. And Charlie looks like a poised professional out there - his swing looks BETTER than a bunch of the pros…
